Thank you Dutchess.

Not having transportation to church, I can at least have the Stations of the Cross here on this Holiest of Weekends.

Iit is coming on to the time when Christ died for us on the Cross...

Good Friday good morning to all at the Finest, and thank
you for joining us this weekend as we celebrate Easter.

Dutchess, this will always be the most exquisite of openings
at the Finest, and I hope you will repeat it every year.

Cain's Pain

The crucifiers
Just like Cain
With jealousy
Inflicted pain
They hardened their hearts
And darkness reigned
No matter what
Their words did feign
The Innocent One
Unjustly slain
They didn't know
He bore their stain
His sacrifice
Eternal gain

Thank you, Miss Dutchess...if I weren't so tough, your beautiful, graceful Stations of the Cross might have moved me to tears.

A meditation on HIs Passion is quite appropriate this morning, this very Good Friday.

Wishin' all the Finest much comfort and joy on this special Easter weekend.

...

Watching our nation at war, our troops fighting and dying...our President being crucified by the Dems and the elite media...so much of the mob choosing to side with the Shadow that moves through the streets, calling for the appeasement and triumph of Evil...and, thinking about the Messiah, His mission and willing sacrifice...all this makes for a heavy and meaningful, more beautiful and humbling Easter than any I've ever known.

...

May the Lord cause His Light to shine upon us all, and favor us with His Grace.

Thanks for the post.

I've been thinking of becoming a catholic again.

It's been many years since I've voluntarily entered a catholic church. Been to hundreds of protestant church services, but it never seems quite right to me, sort of like a watery lite beer (don't flame <just my opinion). Are there any other lapsed catholics who have returned to the church? Is there a "procedure"? Will my devil worshiping/witchcraft teenage years get me excommunicated should I confess this (seriously)? How does one confess 20+ years of sin, is there a blanket amnesty clause?

I think you can go back. That is the purpose of Penance, to ask forgiveness, to wholeheartedly ask.

We all make mistakes, get taken down the wrong path at times. I think if anything, they would welcome you with open arms BECAUSE you did that in the past.

Find a good parish and Pastor. Talk with him about your feelings of coming back. Go to Penance face-to-face with him. If you are baptised you are always welcome back (AFAIK). If you have not been confirmed, he might ask you to go through that process.

I was just going to give an almost identical response.

Iyaayas. The are many of us who have strayed from the church for various reasons and I personally like your analogy to watered down beer :o) There's something about being raised Catholic...there ceremony and traditions that I just don't get in other denominations. Anyway, I agree with Betis70...find a church you feel comfortable with and I'm sure you will be welcomed with open arms.
