It's when Ted Kennedy joins the fun of aiding and abetting our enemies, who in turn are attacking our bullets with their bodies.

For crips sakes, you think these medieval morons give a baboons butt about what Ted Kennedy might say? You give these savages to much credit.

If we werent humane, we wouldnt be America anymore. Let's not go there.

Huh?

Come on WOS, you are living in a dream world. Quit running from the truth.

We almost killed off the all of the Indian nations, we've nuked entire major cities full of civilians, etc. Who are you kidding buddy? Did we do these things to be mean? No, Were they right things to do? Maybe not in every situation. But I'll guarantee you friend, we didn't get to be the worlds only super power by risking American lives so we could be seen as humane, nor did we get to be the worlds superpower by being politically correct.

Being humane at the risk of more American deaths is not acceptable.

We didn't tip toe around the mosque, we dropped a pair of 500 pounders on it. When are you going to stop making this stuff up, Joe?

Actually, the mosques are still standing and were not hit. It's my understanding they hit the compound, but not the structures. Yes I did here there was collateral damage to one of the mosques, consisting of a hole in one of the walls.

In any event, you know as well as I boot, we could have ended that little siege quicker than it took me to type this. We all know that.

"Now the goal, according to you is making Iraqis and their country a shinning pillar of Democracy? Gag!"

You forgot to wipe your butt again, Joe, and you're starting to stink the place up.

How juvenile. I had no idea you would stoop to this. What are you, about 14 years old? If not, you sure sound it.

"Being humane at the risk of more American deaths is not acceptable."

False dichotomy from you ... tsk, tsk. I've explained many times - being humane to civilians in the long run SAVES AMERICAN LIVES.

Embedded reporter with the Echo Company said that the Marines are told again and again to only go after the bad guys and only shoot when their target is a known bad guy. They want to help the civilians. Journalist was impressed - these soldiers take it to heart, they go from warrior to diplomat quickly when the need arises, fulfilling the motto "No Worse Enemy, No Better Friend"

I am sorry you dont get this concept, but I am oh so glad we have professionals running these military ops and not guys like you. We'd throw away our victory in a heartbeat with the attitude you espouse.

And quit trash-talking our country's past. We dont need that right now.

I've explained many times - being humane to civilians in the long run SAVES AMERICAN LIVES. "You mean like Hiroshima?"

That was 1945, 55 years ago, against a foe that had an empire and an army of a million. If you want to argue that it was unnecessary rather than necessary to win that war, go ahead. Your point is such a totally different situation, it is irrelevent.

Since we dont NEED to use Hiroshima-style tactics to overthrow 2 regimes since 2001, and since we have acheived remarkable success in using precision techniques, a heavy dose of civil affairs stance in-country, etc., our only point in wantonly killing civilians in such zones would be to energize anti-Americanism among the muslim hate-America crowd and to destabilize the very countries we want to democratize and normalize.

I am sorry you are too thick-skulled to even acknowledge the basic concept, one that every Army officer understands regarding why "rules of engagement" exist. War is subservient to the political and national security ends for which it is used. If it ceases to serves those ends, it is harmful and wrong. It puts American lives at risk and harms our nation.

We've dug enough of Saddam's killing fields to prove his kind of regime. We've documented his genocide in Hallabjah of kurds. He killed 500,000 civilians. Creating more of the same makes us the same as him in the eyes of the world. We have enough liars accusing us wrongly of atrocities to have to deal with it if we are careless or sloppy with the lives of civilians and peoples we claim to be liberating from tyranny.

"You best go back to war school WOSG." You need to quit picking pointless thread fights just to make some pointless barb. Bye, I've hadenuf.

Didn't mean to upset you, but you made the statement, not I.

Again, you are incorrect, as the *civilians* of Japan were prepared to fight to the death.

the CPA should gather all the prominent tribal leaders of Fallujah, Ramadi, Khaldiyah (since those towns are largely tribal ones) and give them two options; either to hand out all weaponry and ammunitions, plus any insurgents and foreign terrorists they have amongst them, or to face the consequences which could be pulling out of the area completely, halting all reconstruction and humanitarian efforts, and leaving it behind the rest of Iraq, if that's what they want.

I've always found Doctor Zeyad to be thought provoking. Again he did not fail.
