Official BP numbers say they catch one in three, or for every illegal caught, 2 get away. That says that 1000 illegals along my stretch of the border made it through on Saturday, March 27th.
The line agents will tell you that the real numbers are anywhere from 1 in 5 to 1 in 10. That means 4 to 9 times the apprehended number makes it through. If you use the low number, 2000 made it through on that Saturday.
Now, multiply Saturday by 30, and you get 60,000 illegal aliens home free in the month of March. I know it isn't a quarter million...but it starts to come close if you use the higher ratio of 1:10. And that is only along half of the Arizona/Mexico border. That doesn't account for illegals crossing at San Diego, Yuma, Colombus, Deming, Las Cruces, El Paso, the Big Bend, or anywhere else along the Rio Grande.
Does that put it into perspective for you?
