I heard Newt on FoxNews this am and he said the 911 Commission was NOT going to investigate the previous administration. Since they've questioned Cohen, Maddie, etc. does anyone know what he meant?

They are only looking at the Clinton administration back to 1998. Much of the intelligence failure was a result of things done before that time. It also leaves out the first WTC attack and some other stuff.

What I heard is the commission reviewed 11,000 pages of documents and found them mostly irrelevant and they'll keep 12.
Now, that does not mean they won't look at Clinton, it means that little drama that was waged last week that Bush was "keeping" Clinton documents from the commission, per Bruce Lindsey, was false.
The commission did say they will also look at that final National Security report issued by the Clinton administration and compare it to Clarke's assertions about terrorism---Al Qaeda in particular---being top priority.

The 9-11 commission is a bad idea and will hurt our security.
