These women are rich wives of Cantor Fitzgerald bond traders. Does anyone remember the furor in the weeks following 9/11 when the Chairman of Cantor Fitzgerald was accused of not getting the company's money to widows as fast as he promised? There were victims family members all over the media slamming this guy. I wonder if it was these same women?

...as he kowtows to the "9-11 Witches"!...
I'm sorry but these people are more like "9-11 GHOULS" feasting on the victims physically harmed or dead and a nation emotionally terrorized.
I include Matthews/Kerry-Kennedy/Libs/this commission in this comment.
To: Mo1
Let's keep the names out there of these crappy women who dishonor the memory of their own husbands, and of the brave heroes like my cousin--Mike Lynch, FDNY, Ladder Four-- who lost their lives trying to save them.

I haven't read every post on this thread, but a quick scan doesn't seem to address what I think is the most important post-testimony soundbite.
Andrea Mitchell carries a LOT of weight in DC...with a lot of Republicans as well as Dems. She put forth the predicate for the next 6 weeks...'BOB WOODWARD IS THE EXPERT ON 9-11 AND THE WAR'. With that statement, she is hyping Woodward's forthcoming hit piece on the WH.
Matthews was in total agreement...he looked like a bobble-headed doll. Larry King adores Woodward, too.
The 9-11 Widows are a bunch of now-wealthy widows who are publicity seeking professional victims. I wish someone would ask them to state - with specificity - exactly what they think should have been done in GWB's 200 plus days...and what they think WJC should have done in his 8 years (perhaps they could address that question to Mizz Gorelick). And perhaps one of the gutless wonder 'journalists' should ask if they would have authorized the U. S. military to shoot down planes that seemed 'suspicious'. Would they have authorized the military to shoot down the second plane over NYC? Over Boston? That would have created a different 'widow pool' for sure.
Condi did a fine job, though I would have liked her to be more pointed in her criticism of Clarke (she was relatively complimentary of him) and to remind the 'non-partisan' panel that Madame Albright said the country wasn't ready for war. The Bush WH couldn't take pre-emptive measures because the Clinton WH didn't LEAD, and because the Congress obstructed every effort to do the heavy lifting on terrorism because of an irrational fear of profiling.

George W. Bush got reelected TODAY...
I've always admired your optimism, and enthusiasm, and I think Condi did a great job, but what leads you to make this splendidly unequivocal statement?

It wasn't a memo Kerrey wrote..It was a speech he gave about going after Saddam in response to the Cole bombing.Rice called the speech "brilliant"..LOL!

" Would you mind telling me how Dr. Rice did? "
Magnificent and brilliant to the 100th power.
Dr Rice far exceeded everyone's best expectations-while, the whole time remaining a gracious lady.
She's our Margaret Thatcher.
The Democrats behaved like they were at the Wellstone funeral meets John Kerry rally.
Grieving 9/11 families whooping and hollering and high fiving in the gallery, when some Democrat tried to score a cheap, political point.
The Democrats were reduced by Dr Rice, to sniveling, stumbling partisans, completely uninterested in 9/11 or terrorism.
They should all skulk away in shame and embarrassment.

The DNC has a Nut *ping* List. People who are able to get dressed and go to before any camera on short notice. The ablility to cry on cue, or look heartbroken/angry/hungry/or perplexed is a plus. They don't have time to work for a living. They are artists. Scam Artists. And that includes the Widder Group, The 9/11 Seven.

Neo-CON liberals like you want streetfights in Iraq but can't even protect our borders. How very liberal of you. I bet you supported Clinton dropping bombs on Serbia...Come on admit it.I am sick of loosertarians who think they know it all. If you would take the time to actually read Freerepublic more you would realize that most freepers want our boarders protected now, and most thought that attacking Serbia was wrong. But that would take the willingness to actually expand your horizon and learn something.....Come on admit it.

What is the "M-word" that Bob Kerrey refers to in his reply to Condi? (At first I thought he said "N-word" ... haha, haha).
Condi, you scored an A+ :)

"She said that too much time had passed for it to have been a tactical response."
Senator Bob Kerrey criticized the military tactics in Iraq saying that he felt it would lead to Civil War and that he was concerned about the way the Muslim community views us in light of these tactics. Then he turned around and criticized the Administration for not taking military action in response to the USS Cole. How in the hell can he on the one hand, complain about military action against the Muslims in Iraq, and then in the next breath, demand military action against the Muslims for the USS Cole incident? Why is he worried about how we are being viewed by the Muslim world for our role in Iraq and he wasn't concerned over how we would have been viewed by them if we'd taken action 6-7 months after the Cole was bombed? I'm sick and tired of these a-holes and their inconsistent thoughts and comments.

I dunno, that wasn't my impression of the purpose. Didn't they say it would be helfful to the public to see her testify before the public and under oath ?

It seems thought that the Dems want us to remember Sept. 11 in their own revisionist way....
