Dear Sir,

This afternoon down here at Navy flight school rumors were circulating among the fellow Marine Lieutenants of the tragic passing of one of our own from the same officer school class, during the recent violence in Iraq. I was shocked to discover your posting as I believe it is the same Lt. Wrobleski from The Basic School, Bravo Company graduating class that I and nearly 50-90 other Marine 2LTs down here graduated with. I spoke to some who had been in John's platoon who told me he was the best infantry tactician in their entire group, and just a great all-around guy. We are all stunned and greatly saddened by this loss in our family of brothers and sisters in arms. Currently nearly 100% of those 200+ in our class are either in Iraq or are getting ready to deploy after our training is complete. His death serves as a sobering reminder to all of us, literally scattered around the world, of the ultimate price some of us will inevitably pay for the profession we have chosen; moreover, for the country we have sworn to serve and protect. May his memory give us strength and courage in the fulfillment of our duty, and our greatest sympathies to you and his family.

God Bless
-Another Marine Lt from Northern New Jersey

When his body returns we will all go up to N.J. for the funeral. Don't know when that will be but from what I have heard so far the response from the locals in his home town has been bejond belief. The police and city and neighbors are all they could be and more.
Shawn his mothers company has been superb to the point that we can't believe it.
The townsfolk are going to name a road after him. Police wil stop traffic wherever and the whole of the town will mourn.
At his wedding he had several marine buddies do the whole thing where they tap the bride in the can with the swoard and welcome her in as a marine wife.
I'm sure the marines and his comrades will represent the marines here too.
Flags in the town are at half staff.
At his wedding just about 7 months ago I went up to each of the Marines and I think one Army buddy and personally thanked each and every one for their service to their and my country. I also thank you for yours.
By the way it was a most fun wedding, and his bride was beautiful.
John his father cried through the whole ceremony and before and I know he cried now.
