Sen. Tom Daschle said there was "no parallel" between Sen. Christopher J. Dodd's praise of Mr. Byrd and Republican Sen. Trent Lott's praise of former segregationist Sen. Strom Thurmond.
Daschle has never seen a parallel in anything concerning Democrats and Republicans. The head must come out into the light in able to be cognizant.

Wow...Daschle has gone totally insane.

My tagline says it all. Thank God for talk radio and FR. Too bad that "conservative bias" in the media never shows. BTW, anyone have a link to John Kerry speaking? I can't sleep.

Same old media bias, but I must admit that Dodd's comment did not make me cringe like Lott's. Lott's comment could be taken as 'civil rights has caused us a lot of problems'. Dodd's comment is only going to be taken as 'a former Klan leader would have made a good president during the civil war'. Sadly, I doubt enough people will be able to connect the dots on that one. Civil rights is much nearer history, and no one outside of the south knows anything about the civil war or Byrd being a Klansman. It sucks, but the Dems will get the usual get-out-of-jail-free race card.

"I wasn't on the floor when Senator Dodd made his comments," Mr. Daschle told reporters yesterday. "I don't know what he said. But I would think even he would tell you there's no parallel."If I wasn't paying attention to C-SPAN2 as much as I do, I would think Daschle was never on the floor of the Senate. He's always saying he wasn't "here" or "there" when he's backed into a corner.

To those of us who railed into the wind at the Rupublicans' fecklessness and cowardice in failing to defend Lott, the utter injustice of letting Dowd skate invokes no shadenfreud, no feeling of 'I told you so,' no hope that the world is wiser, only the dross of a bitter cup.

Why is it that the rules don't apply to liberals?
