When a cat does that weaving thing between your feet, it's asking you to give it some attention, because it likes you (who knows why?) and needs your acknowledgement of its presence.

It's one thing to push a cat away with your foot, and quite another to have your buddy hold a 2 pound 17 year old Yorkie like a football and "place-kick" the defenseless thing across the parking lot.

I'm a bit of a dog lover, having a pekinese-pomeranian cross, a pair of blue merle border collies, and a rottweiler. There's also a cat, a couple of birds, and 3 tarantulas here.

If some scumbag tried the same trick with Mr. Zippy, he'd have over 300 lbs of angry dogs to deal with, but his troubles wouldn't even begin until the 200 lbs of ferocious owner got ahold of him.

Death is too easy for scumbuckets like this Crawford thing.

I'd sentence him to kick each of these guys. What was left of him would be a changed man.

The perp should spend some jail time. I have a problem with the animal cruelty charge though. The article states that the dog was dead instantly. That isn't torture, and that isn't cruelty (in the sense of prolonged suffering).

Granted, the guy killed a beloved pet, should be prosecuted for that theft, I'm not sure what the charge should be, but IMO animal cruelty should be a charge for people who cause prolonged suffering to animals.

The dog died quickly and perhaps didn't suffer. I have to imaging that there was some horrible pain, however brief. You have to consider that if this jerk had only injured the dog, he probably would have thought it was funny. He would have laughed as the dog yelped in pain -- you know he is that type of person. The fact that the dog might not have really suffered does not hold weight with me. That this jerk is out of control violent is more important. If he gets minimal punishment, he will become confident and eventually start attacking children.

He should definitely be charged with a violent crime. And on further consideration Animal Cruelty is probably good.

I guess I get knee jerk reactions because of all the whacko animal rights "animal cruelty" charges for things like talking loudly to your dog (I know that's over the top, but it seems to be creeping toward that point.)

Anyway, I totaly support lots of jail time for this guy. Personally, I wish the owner had simply kicked the crap out of the guy before the cops showed up, but then he would be charged with assault.

Yep, I'd sentence him to attempt to dropkick this old guy.

Crawford should be kicked by something 100 times his size until he dies a slow painful death. This man should be put away before he does this to a person. Am I a bit biased toward Yorkies, yes. My best little buddy Oscar (a Yorkie) was killed by a coyote two years ago in our yard and I still think about the little brat every day.

I have one of these guys. Watching that peiece of garbage try to kick this dog would be amusing.

Crawford would just be a big, mangled chew toy.

We just got our second Yorkie last fall who's name is also Gizmo (should be Wizmo as he still "go's" in the house. Anyhow our first Yorkie Oscar was tragically killed by a coyote (Many threads have been on FR about Oscar) As much as I hate coyotes they are wild animals, this "person" would be dead if he ever kicked my Yorkie.
I still think about Oscar nearly everyday for some reason or another- His nickname was Moleman, he was my best friend.

No, cats should be kept on barbeque spits.
TomB doesn't sound like an Asian name :-)

The man police say kicked him, Chad Daniel Crawford

If I'd caught up with him, he'd be a "hanging Chad".

How sad for Oscar and you. :(

I am so paranoid about The Flea being outdoors. LOL fraid some hawk will snatch her up, so hubby made a fence in a fence so she can go do her business and terrorize the cats too.

It's a dog for Crissakes!

Correction it is a Yorkie, many of us on here are crazy for Yorkies. My late little pal's nickname was Moleman, thus my handle.

This Crawford character will be doing something to kids later on.

Assuming that he hasn't already, and avoided getting caught at it.

One average sized, average looking guy chases down three guys?

One decent and righteous guy chasing down three cowardly vermin? I don't find it at all difficult to believe.

What is it about animal cruelty threads that inspires people to snipe at good-hearted people about abortion?

SO WORTH REPEATING!

I'd be interested in the details of how Lewis "made him" do this.

Rather easily, I daresay, given that Crawford obviously has no stomach for dealing with any creature with the slightest ability to fight back.

He's going to be the sweetheart of his cell block....
