There is only one huge danger of our losing..the loss of our resolve...McCain was on the Senate floor rebutting the Vietnam and Tet offensive comparisons.

He infuriates me at times but he did not like the Kennedy speech and is taking opportunities to say so..

The only comparison I would make between Iraq and Vietnam is the press coverage.

I remember Tet '68. I was a kid in Japan. My Dad was landing at Da Nang in a C-54 out of Tachikawa the night Tet started. There was live radio reporting from Da Nang and other locations heard on Armed Forces Network radio in Japan. That whole month we listened to AFN and read the Pacific Stars & Stripes and didn't watch any American TV news, because we had no American TV in Japan back then. We got Time and Life magazines and couldn't understand why they were so negative. We were winning. We were taking casualties, for sure; one day the entire back page of the Stars & Stripes was taken up by the KIA list, but we were winning. I wasn't exposed to Walter and the media Fifth Column, and even at the tender age of 12 I noticed the disconnect between what I was hearing and reading and what the American news magazines were saying.

We cannot let the news media do for our enemies in Iraq what they did for the North Vietnamese.

We are trying our hardest to make this Iraqi war another Nam

In Nam the enemy had sanctuaries in Cambodia, Laos and North Vietnam. Today the enemy has them in Syria, Iran, Jordan and Saudi Arabia.

IN Nam we had rules of engagement that handcuffed us. Today the 1st MarDiv has a new pc motto = "First do no Harm"! Today the Marines were first denied Air Support to strike that Mosque, but finally someone in the chain of command authorized it - thank God.

We have lost many more men in the first year of this war than in the first year of Nam, 1961.

We need to stop all this rebuilding and allowing demonstrations and put inplace Martial Law. We did not start rebuilding Germany in 1944. We must FIRST win absolutely the war and that may mean taking out Iran and Syria and THEN we can talk about rebuilding.

And if the Iraqis won't fight for their country, we sure as hell shouldn't.

Don't risk an American when you can risk a 500 lb bomb.
