Before we anoint Pete Coors as the GOP standard-bearer, I'd like to know what he stands for. Schaffer is a pretty good candidate, and we shouldn't drop him for a billionaire unless we're certain that (i) Coors is a true conservative, (ii) Coors will be able to run a winning campaign and (iii) Coors has the experience needed to be a good Senator. I'm not too worried about (iii), assuming that he's been running the brewery all these years and not just appearing in commercials, but (i) and (ii) worry me. I agree with that. That's why I've been asking how he stand on issues and hoping someone will post what they know in between all the beer jokes.

Unfortunately, I know plenty of beer jokes but very little about Pete Coors' policy stances.

I wish I knew. I just hope it's more like his Killians Red than Coors lite.

The Coors family runs a foundartion. Pete Coors is one of the board members. For a listing of some of the annual contibutions see:
www.castlerockfoundation.org
http://castlerockfoundation.org/CR2001AR.pdf http://www.castlerockfoundation.org/CR2002AR.pdf I see some I like:
American Enterprise Institute
American Legislative Exchange Council
Heritage Foundation
Hillsdale College
Intercollegiate Studies Institute
John Wayne Cancer Institute
Pacific Legal Foundation
If he's Joe's boy, I would expect he doesn't fall too far from the tree.
Yes??
(Nothing against Bob Schaffer, but I want a conservative who is likely to win....Bob probably could, but then again if Coors runs stronger, fine with me.
