Jennings-Ashwari and Terrorist Abu Arafat:
"In our opinion, the best reporter on America is
Jennings,
who actually took the time to sleep with BOTH of us.
Like ABC, he always tells us America's weakest links and the
limitations of your weapons, even during battle."

Some of you are currently using a certain other Web site as your homepage because you are under the misguided impression that it is the best place for BREAKING news and DEVELOPING stories that are IMPACTING now.

Translation:
Dagnabbit, you sheep aren't acting like sheep! WE are your overlords! WE tell you what you should know! WE will not stand idly by as you seek information from other sources!

YOU are clearly WRONG. YOU will obey us NOW! YOU are a misguided fool who NEEDS us to finll your minds!

Aiigghhhh! /Dean scream>

I go to drudge because I don't have to filter half a page of annoying navigation and ads. Save for the banner at the top (and the popup which is removed by the google toolbar) the entire page is nothing but story headlines, often I don't even have to use the scrollbar.

Which means I can stay current on the news instantly with a minimal of fuss. Yahoo owned the internet until they swamped their readers in site navigation links, then everyone went to google.

Free Republic is nice for depth and obscure news, but for current headlines nothing beats drudge and most certainly not ABC which doesn't have the foggiest clue as to why drudge is the best news site on the net.

I don't have the Drudge Report my home page, but I will check Drudge a few times a day for real news.

I forgot to mention that Drudge's site is my home page.

You are right when his page comes up it is all right there.

I think the ABC's and CNN's can't handle having anybody interfering in the way the news gets reported. Last I checked Drudge is just linking to places like ABC and the Washington Post. So what is the problem? We end up reading their stuff anyways. Unless it is the breaking news that Drudge scoops himself that they are miffed about. I am sure that is what it is all about. At the moment I put more credibility in a Drudge story than any thing from ABC.

Drudge doesn't need a dozen lawyers and political correctness censors to determine what goes on his front page... that'a a permanent advantage he has over ABC.

You are right, kinda. F.R. does have all the breaking news, but a lot of it is brought over from the Drudge Report. Anything of importance on the Drudge is on F.R. but, first, it was posted on the Drudge report. F.R. wins in the "vanity" department though.

Nothing breaks faster than free republic. Remember the Columbia disaster - Freepers were watching and reporting on it first. Also the night of the RI nightclub fire - the FR report started with someone who said a nightclub was burning down the street.

And when I want to remember 9/11, I go to the 9/11 threads - as it happened. I haven't forgotten the way much of America has.

On 9/11 a freeper from PA posted and said there was a huge explosion in a field, before anyone else reported.

I think the alphabet networks should just keep an eye on FR for breaking news. Heck, for all we know, that's what they do.

Fish....you got it backwards.

Drudge lags.

FR races.

Drudge gets his bedroom scoops, but FR does the NEWS!

And then you click on ABC's link, and all they have is rah-rah for Kerry.

They just don't get it, do they?

They just don't get it, do they?

From the website:

During the political workday, everyone -- from Bill Clinton, to Rick Berke, to Ken Mehlman -- asks the same question of everyone else: "What's goin on?"

No, they don't, on so many levels.

Cute note, it was probably written to convince THEIR OWN ABC STAFF!

They don't mention any web page by name, for all anyone knows it could very well be FR. None of the news agencies can hold a candle to the effectivness of FR when something is happening.

It is really funny when you consider that ABCnews staff probably have Drudge as their homepage.

'Some of you are currently using a certain other Web site as your homepage because you are under the misguided impression that it is the best place for BREAKING news and DEVELOPING stories that are IMPACTING now'...

For a purveyor of "news" they sure seem clueless most of the time. Hey, people are not using you as their source because of your poorly hidden bias and shoddy journalism.

If ABC wanted credibility AND ratings they would have to take out John Kerry and stop giving him a free pass. They would have to start doing their jobs instead of simply reading the press releases of leftists.

It's gotten to the point that guest talking heads use entire reply posts from FR as their agitprop rhetoric oneliners. Heck, I once almost got in an accident when Rush read one of my posts verbatim while driving on a major highway. (I think I just wrote something just like that in the morning, Holy cr*P, that's exactly what I wrote!)... And the fact that there are a number of talking heads who regularly lurk and post here, (though I expect less so now then a few years ago since blogging has expanded so much among the chattering classes), we get what we want, and have the chance to have our posted opinions amplified nationally be those watching this board.

Oh, and why would I want to read news from an organization that has cooking tips, icons on what to wear tomorrow during the weather reports, and news stories about their own celebrities? Breaking stories about car chases going national, Peterson, MJ, Tom Cruise's love life, latest fashion. Their hard news department is underfunded, ignored, overlawyered, outmoded, heavily edited, leveraged to increase sitcom and reality viewers and late to the game. The same reason so few watch there TV programming anymore. Spanish language news programs have more in depth reporting then them, with smaller budgets, larger audiences, more international bureaus, and well, much more attractive newsreaders.

If I want the so called Journalist(aka Liberals, and Socialist) point of view, then I will go to the media research center to see what kind of crap ABC is spewing out of its cesspool.

Why waste time on ABC which only wants to tell you what to think. FR is comprehesive, FR is interactive and does not limit itself to democrat party talking points.
