Five Marines had been shot from the mosque before commanders authorized the use of air power and laser-guided missiles against it.

I'll be looking to see if Dan Rather mentions this little fact when he "reports" this tonight. Not likely. Hopefully from now on they will level any mosque upon the first shot.
