Fox reporting at least two separate incidents of western reporters being kidnapped in Iraq. Confirmed by the Pentagon, who won't give details.
Hostages and a way to get media attention, in my opinion. I will bet they looked for TV reporters and those with higihest profile.
This is why I think the Pentagon won't say which organization it is. All we need is NBC going 24/7 about a reporter in grave danger et., etc.
To: Miss Marple
Just heard that two MEDIA reports were captured.
As far as I'm concerned, there are still no hostages. Should be a fun day as the MEDIA begs us to stop shooting.
"Huh?, I cant hear you through all this gun fire"

tactical retreat, no need to be over-run, pull back, call in air support.
To: Pukin Dog
My guess: CNN and NBC. That's who I would go for if I were a bad guy. Or the New York Times.
Again the report that terrorists are claiming they have several captured coalition troops, which the Pentagon denies.
Send in wave after wave of AC-130 specs and spooks. Level 'em.
We've been too nice for too long.

bogdan, what you can do is go through the beginning of the thread and look for anything that you posted that has specific information. Hit the "abuse" button and ask the moderator to delete those specific lines. That way, the items that are on here from media organizations will still be available to people.
There is no need to pull the entire thread, just the items that you think might endanger someone if they were posted.<p.Myself, most things you posted were general and didn't give geographic locations nor plans for troop movements...just things that had already happened. But you be the judge and aske the moderator to help you.

Kidnappings are based on the notion that Bush cannot stand up to media pressure. They see the media as their ally against the administration.
They are about to learn a lesson about leadership and resolve. Reporters were warned to stay out of hot zones and to NOT go out on their own under any circumstances. Lots of reporters are running around on their own trying to earn that Pulitzer prize, and have disregarded every warning.
Bush and the Marines will pay no attention to media cries for us to stop our offensive, but they will be ignored.
Hopefully, the media will learn a lesson right along with the insurgents.

Thanks for this thread. Prayers have been directed Heaven-ward since this whole engagement was begun. I pretty much expect that once it's well known that our Coalition Troops are kicking butt, the Quislings in the major media outlets will be crying tears about how our forces are going "overboard" in their efforts. Watch for it... :-(

Readers of my comments in this thread, should not be surprised about what happened today, in the heat of the fights between the Mahdi militias and the coalition
According to a video ,aired on the Arab-language Al-Arabiya television station, the group in Iraq said this Sunday they had taken Fereidoun Jahani, an Iranian embassy official hostage as a warning against Iranian interference in Iraq.State television in Tehran have confirmed that an Iranian diplomat has been kidnapped in Iraq.
