The coalition gave these die-hard Baathists a chance to conform after the fall of Baghdad and join the new Iraq. Some did -- many didn't.
They should have never been given a chance. Fallujah should have been razed after the fall of Baghdad. Now, almost a year later, these Baathists have no intention to conform. It's endgame for the insurgency.
