Why? The 2000 polls showed a very close Presidential race. That's what we got.

Sure, but the late news "polls" also sent a lot of Republican voters home without voting in Floriduh, as the newsies called the election for Gore early. Had they ignored the propaganda, the election wouldn't have been as close as it was. Polls are too easy to manipulate. People shouldn't allow themselves to be manipulated.
