I have seen the improved ammo for the 105. It is said to be as effective against troops as the 155mm. I have always had a soft spot in my heart for the "Oh-5" since I was an XO and BC of a battery of 'em!

The ammunition on the Stryker howitzer is more effective than the M107 projectile for the 155mm against medium and thin skinned vehicles and personnel. It has 7800 tungsten balls embedded in the side walls and is a real killer. Also the howitzer is able to carry 37 rounds in a fully automated system or 56 rounds in s semi-automated system. On 19 April it was flown 900+ miles to Fort Sill, OK drove off to the range and fired 5 round there in less than 25 mile from the tailgate of the aircraft coming down.
