Yes. You threaten lawsuits against FR or it’s members - your ass is gone.
Sorry to bother you.
Here’s one of Anthony’s several whiny “articles” on the topic,
plus a nifty “editorial” video of his defending the blogxaminer:

Very interesting.
i posted an article an hour or so ago on shortages of some cancer drugs that I found from a local newspaper/website. I didn’t post a link or excerpt the article because it was from a website that had restrictions. I originally tried to followed directions on this thread but couldn’t post it even then. I finally did a vanity that mentioned the article in general terms but now I can’t find it at all now. Was it deleted? If so, can you let me know why so that i’ll know what not to do?
We cannot post from Gannett sites per their copyright demand.
Thanks for the answer. I don’t mean to belabor the point but I thought that I hadn’t posted from their website, but was talking about the general content of the article. Did it get deleted because the link was posted by others later on in the thread? ....or are we not even allowed to discuss anything from their website even in general terms?
I’m not trying to be a pain, I just want to know what exactly caused the thread to be pulled.
Thanks for the reply again.
This is disturbing, that we can’t even discuss a current topic (drug shortages) even in general terms.
Is Gannett the only source in the world for such info?
Here’s an article that may fit your needs on the topic from the Philadelphia Inquirer that I believe isn’t on the no post list:

thanks for finding and posting the link.
thanks for finding and posting the link.
Talk about a list of obscure newspapers. Did not see 1 that I recognized.
Weird.
Well, there is a solution to this growing problem.
Create FreRepublic University. Run it like the old City College of New York - no tuition, open classes. Make sure that the students sign up for classes. Our classes will consist of online discussions of social and political issues of interest to students. We are graded on participation, pass / fail. Therefore, the rules on copyright change - we can print excerpts from anything as long as it has an “educational purpose.”
Sort of like the “redeeming social importance” rule embraced in the 1960s concerning certain other printed material.
I’ll be the first student to sign up. Our classroom discussions, moderated by Prof. Jim Robinson, will illuminate our understanding of American culture.
BTTT - refresher
I didn’t see imdb.com on the list, is it forbidden? Thanks.
I have noticed that Newsmax is never posted here, is it forbidden? Is the list at the top of this thread accurate as of 5/24/2011?
It’s not totally up to date, but excerpts from NewsMax are posted here daily.
Thanks. I don’t know how I missed that.
