MCCAIN PRAISES DEMOCRATS, CRITICIZES THE PRESIDENT
Now you can start to see why the media has an orgasm anytime Senator John McCain makes the news. Apparently the good "Republican" is really a closet liberal Democrat. Not convinced? Read on.
McCain was attending a legislative seminar hosted by a Bush-bashing Democratic member of Congress. He said "I think the Democratic party is a fine party, and I have no problems with it, in their views and their philosophy." Oh really? He has no problem with a Democratic party that would end the war on terrorism and turn it over to the United Nations? Apparently not. It actually gets worse. Taking a shot at President Bush, he said "You can't fly in on an aircraft carrier and declare victory and have the deaths continue. You can't do that. Many people in this room question, legitimately whether we should have gone in or not." How nice...so McCain is now questioning the liberation of Iraq, criticizing George Bush's handling of the war and praising the Democratic party.
Maybe he should join the sKerry ticket...he would fit right in.

I never understood why nobody (to my knowledge) considered that McCain's time at the Hanoi Hilton really screwed up his head? Look at him - you can't honestly regard him as a friend of these United States.

Me either.
And so far none of his fans have defended him.

Much like Colin Powell's pro Choice leanings absolutely preclude him from ever gaining a place on a GOP ticket, McCain's pro Life leanings, though weak by our standards, are utterly unacceptable to the left wing and thus he will never be on a Dem ticket.

Any chance we could swap McCain for Zell Miller? Perhaps with a future draft choice to be named later.

The problem here is that, just as with Arlen Specter, McCain has an (R) after his name. Many Republican leaders focus on that (R) and forget what is between the guy's ears. If McCain were up for re-election and was being challenged by a conservative Republican as Specter is, GW would surely endorse him simply because he is an incumbent Republican with an (R) after his name. IMHO, GW and Santorum should have thrown their full support to Toomey to rid the Senate of another RINO senator.
Another interesting observation----why are there so many RINO's and so few DINO's??????

They couldn't stomach what their party had become and they switched.

Because Republians know that to enforce the slightest ideological discipline within their party would invite a media firestorm over GOP "intolerance." And nothing stampedes Republicans more effectively than the threat of harsh treatment by the WashPost.
Democrats, by contrast, get a free pass from the press and alphabet networks when they trample dissent. Witness the humiliation of the late Pennsylvania Gov. Bob Casey, an outspoken pro-lifer, at a Demo convention back in the '90s.

Why doesn't John just go ahead and switch to the Democrats....all I ever hear is him praising Democrats and nay-saying the President.
