Wonder how much money went into former UN Chief Weapons Inspector Hans Blix' pocket? Take a look at an article on Blix' background from Rush Limbaugh posted on FR in April 2003.

Blix Got Degree, Ruskies Got Cancer (CHERNOBYL)

Let's take a look at Hans Blix. We did some research. Dr. Hans Blix was born in Sweden in 1928. Among other things, he was awarded an honorary doctorate from Moscow State University in 1987. This was when the Soviet Union existed. I'm not saying that Blix is a communist, but it does make me wonder why a communist state would award him an honorary doctorate.

The BBC reported in 1987 that International Atomic Energy Agency Director General Hans Blix was awarded the diploma of Doctor Honorus Causa, Moscow State University. He was awarded this title for outstanding scientific activity and strengthening peace among peoples. One of the things that Dr. Blix did, ladies and gentlemen, was to basically whitewash Chernobyl.

At the doctorate award ceremony from Moscow State University, a reporter said to Hans Blix, "You've recently been at Chernobyl nuclear power station. How do you assess the situation there?" Blix responded, "I think that putting the two power sets of the station into operation is a huge achievement by scientists, engineers and workers, just like the creation of the shielding structure, which prevents the leak of radiation." The correspondent followed up, "There's no more danger at all?" Blix answered, "Yes, I think the situation is safe and stable."

Lo and behold, just today Reuters reports that the concrete shield thrown up to block radiation escaping the Chernobyl nuclear power station after it exploded in 1986 is collapsing and needs reinforcement. The very thing that Hans Blix said was fine is now falling apart. Could it be he got the honorary degree from Moscow State for whitewashing the conditions at Chernobyl? It wouldn't surprise me, folks. It's a legitimate question to ask based on these stories. How amazing.

Sick and Tired Of Moralizing Hypocrites
I can't think of a reason why a guy from Sweden, heading up the UN's atomic energy agency at the time, would get an honorary degree from Moscow State University. These things are not just passed out at random. Chernobyl could well be a reason. It is admittedly speculation, but the timeline looks odd. Now we find out that Hans Blix, who is working with Mohammed ElBaradei (who now heads up the UN atomic agency commission), looking for nuclear weapons in Iraq, gave the blessing to the Soviet system after Chernobyl. You just can't trust these people.

We had a caller try to tell us that we wouldn't blame a car mechanic if our car broke down 15 years after he fixed it, so we shouldn't lay this Chernobyl failure on Blix, but you can't compare a nuclear facility, even in Russia, to a car. Let's say we had Three Mile Island back up and running, and some guy had gone in there and declared it safe. If 15 years later it fell apart, the guy would be drawn and quartered by Tom Hayden and anti-nuke crowd in this country.

Hans Blix is one of the foremost proponents of nuclear energy in the world, yet these leftists, who hate nuclear energy, ascribe to him holier than thou status, because he's on their side in wanting to stop the war in Iraq. I'm sick and tired of all these elitist moralizers on the left, who blame the right for all the ills of the world. I really am.

Reread that statement. Yes should be no. Lol...Clinton semantics.
