"Why are the freakin democreeps singling out Condi? She hasn't done anything to provoke them."
Try being Black, a Woman, and a Republican for starters. Toss in that she is highly intelligent and not a product of affirmative action, and you begin to have your answer.

Last Monday morning 9/11 commission executive director Philip Zelikow faxed a photograph to the White House counsel's office with a note saying that if the White House didn't allow national-security adviser Condoleezza Rice to testify in public before the commission, the photograph would"...be all over Washington in 24 hours," Newsweek has learned. , Well that sounds like a threat of blackmail to me
Naaaaaaaaaaaaaa ... This 9/11 Commission isn't playing political games with our national security /sarcasm >
BTW .. has the commission addressed the reason why after the 1993 WTC Bombing, Clinton let the case go to a Grand Jury .. which tied the hands of our intell departments because the Grand Jury wasn't allowed to share the information and evidence it had??

Hardly breaking news. This was
dissected, in detail, yesterday.
First, as has been pointed out, the 1945 inquiry occurred AFTER the war.
Second and more importantly, the concept of executive privildge only goes back to the Eisenhower administration.

Every attack on Bush for laxness increases his poll ratings. Rove knows this and seeing that Bush is Rove's puppet, why is it thought they don't want to continue to be attacked on this issue as widely and broadly as possible ?
Fact: Only 52% of the rats trust Kerry to terrorism.

I was told I shouldn't post pics of Condi unless she has a nice smile on her face.
Richard Clarke, you're gonna be REAL sorry you said that cra* about my boss. |
.... so everybody just pretend that is ME sayin' that, instead of Condi. ;^)

Condi says that was an "outrageous lie" the first time she appeared but now under oath the answer will change. Big story here.I respectfully disagree. Dr. Rice is an extremely honest and ethical person - I am thankful of her service to our country. Oh, and welcome to Free Republic.

"AFTER the War was over. Not during the War."
Great point. Also, the typical lib dissembling article doesn't even say - whose chief of staff was Leahy - FDR or Truman. Seeing as not only was the war over, and Pearl Harbor almost FOUR years prior, Roosevelt WAS DEAD when this was investigation was going on!
So typical.

You know I did a search on the title but it didn't come up and I did a search on Newsweek and it still didn't come up. LOL - no wonder I couldn't find it - they posted it by the second lead-in line and not the title. That's why I couldn't find it.

the first time she appeared but now under oath the answer will changeIf true, why should she stop lying simply because she is under oath ?

You beat me to it, Quilla. I'm always a little leary of new freepers who come in with a negative storyline. Keep up the good work :)

I hope Condi cleans their collective clocks! I am skeptical. Condi has never been impressive in public. Ben Veniste has the traps waiting for her. Let's see if she can avoid them and turns things to her advantage. She is a Scorpio, and they always have a ton of balls in reserve, just in case.

"In his 1985 memoir about the war, Gen. Vo Nguyen Giap wrote that if it weren't for organizations like Kerry's Vietnam Veterans Against the War, Hanoi would have surrendered to the U.S. - according to Fox News Channel war historian Oliver North."
Now, if I was a scummy Islamofascist, I would know that there would be no way to defeat the U.S. militarily. Therefore, I would look to the only way to defeat us--fomenting dissent from within. It worked in Vietnam, and it could work with the War on Terrorism.
In fact, we're watching this strategy unfold before our very eyes. There are a few within the Leftist contingent that desire an "overthrow" of our "capitalist" system, but there are even more that just see an opportunity to re-gain power. Consequences, shmonsequences, as long as we're in power, is the logic.
Damn these people; damn them all.

. . .'the enemy within'; continues it's assault under the guise of 'fair inquiry'.
I only wonder why, the Bush Administration cannot stay ahead of their slimy tactics. Surely they know by now, the slimiest tactics available; will be used.

Kinda reminds me of Rhett Butler saying to Scarlett, "Heaven help the Yankees if they get hold of you."
Let 'em have it, Condi, right between the eyes.

...and seeing that Bush is Rove's puppet... Rove is an advisor. Good advisors give good advice, and wise men listen. No leader should keep an advisor whose advice he does not value.
To follow advice does not make someone a puppet of the advisor. Quite the contrary. One measure of a leader is the quality of the leader's advisors.
