First, as has been pointed out, the 1945 inquiry occurred AFTER the war.

Second and more importantly, the concept of executive privildge only goes back to the Eisenhower administration.

I am skeptical. Condi has never been impressive in public. Ben Veniste has the traps waiting for her. Let's see if she can avoid them and turns things to her advantage. She is a Scorpio, and they always have a ton of balls in reserve, just in case.

Rove is an advisor. Good advisors give good advice, and wise men listen. No leader should keep an advisor whose advice he does not value.

To follow advice does not make someone a puppet of the advisor. Quite the contrary. One measure of a leader is the quality of the leader's advisors.
