So far, John Kerry has done nothing to disassociate himself from Zuniga's hateful reaction to the Falluja massacre.

Just for the sake of accuracy, this is untrue.

Respect

In light of the unacceptable statement about the death of Americans made by Daily Kos, we have removed the link to this blog from our website. As John Kerry said in a statement earlier this week, "My deepest sympathies are with the families of those lost today. Americans know that all who serve in Iraq - soldier and civilian alike - do so in an effort to build a better future for Iraqis. These horrific attacks remind us of the viciousness of the enemies of Iraq's future. United in sadness, we are also united in our resolve that these enemies will not prevail."

However, the following Dem Party organizations are still associating themselves with The Daily Kos, so please contact them and explain why they should distance themselves from such appalling statements as those of Zuniga:

Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee
Contact: (202) 863-1500; or via webform

Minnesota House Democratic Caucus
Contact: Phone - 651-251-6340; Email - house@housedflcaucus.com

The Democratic National Committee

Finally, Jeff Seemann running for the House in Ohio has decided to support The Daily Kos.

As someone who was in the military, worked as an armed and unarmed security guard, and has done some (domestic) executive protection, I find this kind of rubbish ridiculous and insulting. Private personnel get protection like this all the time. No bleeding hearts seemed to argue when Nelson Mandela was escorted around IN THE US by a mix of armed and unarmed (mostly martial arts experts and spotters) 'mercenaries'. Of course, to them, bodyguards are only earned by their 'elite', not anyone else.
