Well, a focused reflection requires a reflector with a figure better than 1/4 wave and you'd need to optimize for a fixed distance... The shields could be plain, straight cardboard rectangles covered in foil -- but if a whole BUNCH of them (like a mob's worth) were at 90 degree angles to beam incidence, then you would have a significant amount of radiation being reflected back, IMHO
