fyi, my ancestor PVT William James (Little Thunder) Freeman, late of A company-4th MO Partisan Rangers, helped sack lawrence.

he said it was the "most sucessful cavalry raid of the war", in a letter to a friend in 1896.the lads GOT all but 2 of the murdering scum that were on the KILL LISTS. too bad that "doc jennison" & "senator lane" were out of town that fine day!
