Don't Forget to Set Those Clocks Ahead!

I'd prefer to, on Friday, to set the day to Saturday in the spring and set the day back to Saturday on Sunday in the fall.

Your idea makes just as much sense as daylight saving time does. We certainly don't need more light later in the day in the summer up here. Still twilight at 11pm may sound okay, but it wears thin really quickly when you're trying to get to sleep for a 5 am start time.

Its great to live in AZ, where we don't change our clocks. Only bad thing is if you are a fan of talk radio, it messes up the times each year. But, on the bright side, Sopranos comes on one hour earlier.

Here in ther Central Valley of California, it makes no sense. Temperatures top out during the summer months at 5:00 PDT. Which means that everyone leaves work at the hottest time of day and goes home to fire up the home air conditioners and plug in the electric cars. Sure does save electrity doesn't it.

I know all the arguements. People tell me that they so enjoy it staying light later. I patiently explain that happens anyway every summer whether or not you fool with the time. I t is a stupid system that please stupid people.

The economic losses of missed appointments probably far outweigh the benefits of daylight swapping time.

Actually, DST is primarily a win for golf courses over theatres.

I've always been confused of this spring foward and fall back. Why can it not be just as easy to spring back and fall forward?

I've never understood why people observe daylight savings time. Glad I live in Arizona where they decided years ago that the day begins when the sun comes up and ends when it goes down and changing your clock changes only your clock.

IIRC, when it's 2:30am in Arizona, it won't be 2:30am anywhere else. It will be 3:30am in Colorado but 1:30am in California. So Arizona will have an hour all to itself.

I grew up in Northern IN too. Problem is, while the time doesn't change, your favorite television shows always did! Recall the slow crawl across the screen? "This program will be seen one hour earlier...." Left me confused and screwed up as I ventured off to college.
