I didn't know there were any judges like this left in America.

"a woman faces more danger continuing a pregnancy than ending it"Okay. Now how about the "danger" to the "fetus?"

I didn't know there were any judges like this left in America.Thank goodness there's at least one.
I saw a cartoon a while back... a girl was handing her brother a rag doll and saying, "Let's play doctor. You poke scissors through the back of her skull; I'll suck her brains out." I wish I could find it again.

What I fail to understand is if a baby is 7 or 8 months in development and can survive outside the mother's womb, why not let it live? If a woman wants an abortion at that late in development just because she doesn't want the baby, that doesn't seem right.
I can understand going through this procedure if the woman's life is at risk, or the baby is deformed or something like that.
But I can't imagine such a horrific procedure of actually crushing a baby's skull -- Don't the doctors get counseling for getting put through this? I know that even the most seasoned physicians get emotional from the injuries or death of children.

"Don't the doctors get counseling for getting put through this?"
The evil ones don't need conuseling, they thrive on this stuff. They truly are Satan's minions, of that there can be no doubt.

At one point, [U.S. District Judge Richard C.] Casey, who is blind, asked Westhoff, "A condition that causes blindness, can that be detected?"

This judge must drive them nuts. Very tough for them to get aggressive with a "handicapped person."

Especially a judge who might not even have entered this world if he'd
arrived on the scene after introduction of full-tilt genetic testing and
full access to abortion.

This issue is getting LOTS of coverage from The American Center for Law and Justice.
I think that radio stations carrying their radio show, "Jay Sekulow Live"
are available at their website:

"Does the baby ever make any noise or cry?" Casey asked Westhoff, who estimates she performs or supervises 500 or more abortions annually in Manhattan."It does not withdraw or move," Westhoff said.
"Objection. Non-responsive."
Notice that she did not answer the question which was asked.

I don't believe this. It's a living baby.
On EWTN, I saw an interview with a nurse who had taken a job in an abortion clinic and this isn't how she described partial birth abortion.
She said that the baby is kicking and moving like a normal newborn until the instrument is stabbed into the skull, THEN it goes limp.
Of course, since the head is still inside the mother, the cries would be inaudible.
The nurse went back to work on the second day, but couldn't take it and, at the time of the interview, she was traveling around the country speaking out against abortion.

It is my personal opinion only here. Or should I say, my personal suspicion.
I think many of these partial birth abortions are done on teens who either failed to recognize, or failed to tell their parents that they were pregnant until they were so far along that this was the only option available.
And, for these teens' sake, long-term, this awful procedure should be stopped!

Of course, since the head is still inside the mother, the cries would be inaudible.Babies are incapable of making much sound until their lungs fill with air following birth.
Which doesn't really invalidate your point.

Her response makes no sense. My son who is in utero now and 6 weeks away from his birthday:-) kicks at a doppler on my belly and withdraws from and wiggles against pressure on my belly too. I absolutely don't buy that a baby doesnt try to wiggle away from a cold instrument that is actually touching them full on. He is quite active most other times as well. Limp, who is the this woman fooling that a baby is limp when they go in there. What a crock!

I'm pregnant now and many of the pregnancy sites say the baby "cries" in utero. I'm assuming that to mean that on ultrasound, grimaces in the baby's face that look like crying have been seen, especially with the advent of 3 and 4-d ultrasounds.

I don't suppose I have to tell any of you that it's an outright *miracle* that this judge is hearing this case? Please pray for this man.

You're right... on both points.
