Fox News Channel host Bill O'Reilly and nationally syndicated radio host G. Gordon Liddy are blasting each other in a mini-feud ignited by media libs Paul Begala and Al Franken. The stone throwing apparently started Thursday night, when Begala, hosting "Crossfire," asked Liddy about why his Westwood One colleague O'Reilly "hasn't done very well on radio."
Citing a year-old Drudge report, Liddy said the top-rated cable TV host's radio ratings are "in the toilet."
"He really doesn't do radio well at all," the G-Man added.
Friday afternoon, Liddy guested on Al Franken's radio show, where both hosts took shots at O'Reilly. [To the astonishment of fans and foes alike, Franken announced that he was a personal friend of Liddy's, referring to him throughout simply as "G."]
Friday night, O'Reilly fired back, reading a press release about the brouhaha from Westwood, which syndicates both their shows:
"During appearances on two cable news programs yesterday Westwood One personality G. Gordon Liddy made statements about 'The Radio Factor with Bill O'Reilly' which are totally inaccurate and in no way represent the views of Westwood One.
"Westwood has so advised Liddy and forwarded to him the true facts about the program. In less than two years on-the-air 'The Radio Factor' has become one of the most successful talk shows in the country. In addition to its high ratings and large audience, the program is also a home run with advertisers."
The statement didn't much impress Liddy, who said he stands by his original comments.

Let's see...they both work for the same company, which means that they both have acess to the same ratings data on each other.
Neither is above a little publicity-seeking (to put it mildly)
This has all the marks of a pro-wrestling-style WORK.
It's an angle, pure and simple...they "feud" on-air, and both get extra ink and listeners.

Explain, please, how Falwell is an idiot and a liar. After the WTC Falwell and broadcaster Pat Robertson, commenting on the terrorist attacks, claimed the United States had insulted God and lost divine protection.
God allowed "the enemies of America to give us probably what we deserve," Falwell noted.
Is he an idiot?
"I do not believe the homosexual community deserves minority status. One's misbehavior does not qualify him or her for minority status. Blacks, Hispanics, women, etc. are God-ordained minorities who do indeed deserve minority status." Jerry Falwell, USA Today Chat
Women are a minority?
Is he an idiot?
He claimed that the "Antichrist is among us and living as a Jewish male".
Is he an idiot, or perhaps worse?
He attacked Tinky Winky as a 'gay' telletubbie.
Idiot or not?
Here's a great quote from Falwell:
"If the American Atheists Society or Saddam Hussein himself ever sent an unrestricted gift to any of my ministries," Falwell says, "be assured I will operate on Billy Sunday's philosophy: The Devil's had it long enough, and quickly cash the check."
Do you agree with Falwell on that?
In 1994 Falwell accepted $3.5 million from Korean cult messiah Sun Myung Moon as part of a larger deal to bail Liberty University out from under its horrendous debt load. He then went to Reagan to pardon Moon's tax evasion conviction.
Where did the university money disappear to?

Think about what you say. If Falwell is using the media to look like an ass, just who is allowing him to do it? And for what purpose?

If there are two shows and the ratings are not good on either, and both are owned by the same firm, start a fight between the two show hosts. That will get some media coverage and should improve the ratings of both shows.
The thought is if Liddy's listeners tune in to O'Reily and O'Reily's listeners tune into Liddy, because they have a fued, they both will get better ratings.
The reactions to this "feud" convinces me that my Dad was wrong. He said there was one born ever minute. I think it occurs more frequently than tat.

Got to say that while in the UK that Tinky Winky thing DID have a male voice and DID carry a purse (the only telle-tubbie to carry anything). Clearly a homo. . .message to little boys; "it's okay to carry your mother's purse."
The rest, no argument.

Don't think I've thought positively as often about O'Reilly recently as in the past. Can't quite put my finger on it but I think it is the same feeling I got about Rush on days when he was too self-absorbed and spent an inordinant amount of time defending himself rather than talking about things of national interest.

Men who wear sandals and an American flag butt-thong are in even deeper water.

O'Reilly is insane when it comes to anyone taking a shot at him. I have never, in my life, seen any media figure who is as seriously self-absorbed as he. This Liddy thing is stupid. O'Reilly's radio show is not a huge hit. It just can't compete with Rush.

Watch it people...Don't fall into the old divide and conquer trap. O'reilly is a pompous, arrogant a$$, but he's OURS.
He has also been one of the loudest advocates of putting our military on the border with mexico.
Don't like O'Reilly, do what I do and change the channel, but keep your eye on the real enemy here, John Kerry.

Falwell has done much more good for the conservative cause than most of us. He was a significant factor in the election of Reagan and the GOP renassiance in Va. to name two.
And while I can think of a lot of lies told about him, I can't think of any in which he's been caught.
Falwell has taken a lot of abuse by people I dislike -- Larry Flynt, Phil Donohue, Bob Beckle

Do you agree with Falwell on that? Sure. No problem with anything you posted. He's entitled to his opinion. He's certainly more learned and credible than you are.

Okaaayyyy. . . but I think you are confusing replies, as the quote you cite was #39 and I did not post 39.

[To the astonishment of fans and foes alike, Franken announced that he was a personal friend of Liddy's, referring to him throughout simply as "G."] This is not exactly an astonishment to anybody who's ever listened to G. Gordon Liddy's show -- Franken has been a guest on Liddy's show many times, and Liddy appeared on Franken's sitcom Lateline a bunch of times as well.
Anyhow, O'Reilly is stupid in whining. Franken is trying to provoke a reaction out of him, and he's getting it.
