At least she has now been ID'd with a problem and now her family can intercede and get her some professional help.
There is a good chance that she can overcome this with proper meds and care.(and lot's of time)
The important thing is that she was not hurt, no body else was harmed and the truth is known.
She has made it less likely that someone will be willing to go search for the next missing coed. She has eroded trust of the community.
The truth is known, but, had there been no camera showing her leaving her apartment, she'd still be lying.
