Striking workers count as unemployed??? You've got to be kidding me! I think so .. I do know my neighbor (who's union).. when his place shuts down for a couple weeks every year .. the employees collected unemployment
I guess we should keep an eye on the Unions the closer we get to election time

This isn't actually true. Most striking workers are replaced by temporary workers. When the strike ended, most of the temporary workers were laid off. The net gain/loss of jobs is nearly a push.

I agree with you. How come they mention the union strike now, when the jobs are created, but never mentioned that the increase in unemployment was partially caused by them going on strike in the first place? They were on strike for 3 or 4 months weren't they?
