Israeli Police Storm Disputed Holy Site

JERUSALEM - Israeli police stormed a disputed Jerusalem holy site after Muslim prayers on Friday and thousands of worshippers barricaded themselves in the mosque.

Police fired plastic bullets, stun grenades and tear gas in an attempt to disperse hundreds of Palestinian stone throwers. At least six people were wounded.

Officers entered the Al Aqsa Mosque compound after Muslim worshippers threw stones at police deployed nearby, police spokesman Shmuel Ben-Ruby said.

Mohammed Hussein, a senior official in the Islamic Trust, which administers the mosque compound, tried to calm the situation, urging worshippers to go home, witnesses said. Most left, but several hundred stone throwers remained behind.

The mosque compound is known to Jews as the Temple Mount, site of biblical Jewish temples. The walled site is revered by Muslims and Jews and is one of the flashpoints in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

"The mosque compound, known to Jews as"... nice slant. It IS the mosque compound, but some radiical weirdos call it something else. Gee, I wonder what it was called 1500 years ago... 2000 years ago... 2500 years ago...

They were throwing stones at those praying there! I wish the IDF hadn't used rubber bullets, but REAL ones!

More than a thousand years. Solomon's temple dates from around 800 B.C. or so (whenever he ruled) and Islam didn't build Al-Aqsa until A.D. 700 or someting, more than a thousand years.

'The mosque compound is known to Jews as the Temple Mount, site of biblical Jewish temples. The walled site is revered by Muslims and Jews and is one of the flashpoints in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.'

I wonder if God is laughing or crying or rejoicing? All I really know is that He is in control.

Jer 26:18 Micah the Morasthite prophesied in the days of Hezekiah king of Judah, and spake to all the people of Judah, saying, Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Zion shall be plowed [like] a field, and Jerusalem shall become heaps, and the mountain of the house as the high places of a forest. http://www.blueletterbible.org/tsk_b/Jer/26/18.html

'And Jesus went out, and departed from the temple: and his disciples came to him for to show him the buildings of the temple. And Jesus said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down. (Mat 24:1-2)' http://www.blueletterbible.org/tsk_b/Mat/24/2.html

Wailing Wall or Roman fortress?

The Wars of The Jews by 1st century Jewish historian Josephus who witnessed the fall of Jerusalem:

Book VII, Chapter 8, Section 7

Jerusalem Was Demolished to the Very Foundations

Where is this city that was believed to have God himself inhabiting therein? *It is now demolished to the very foundations, and hath nothing but that monument of it preserved, I mean **the camp of those that hath destroyed it, which still dwells upon its ruins; some unfortunate old men also lie upon the *ashes of the temple, and a few women are there preserved alive by the enemy, for our bitter shame and reproach. Now who is there that revolves these things in his mind, and yet is able to bear the sight of the sun, though he might live out of danger? Who is there so much his country's enemy, or so unmanly, and so desirous of living, as not to repent that he is still alive? And I cannot but wish that we had all died before we had seen **that holy city demolished by the hands of our enemies, or ***the foundations of our holy temple dug up after so profane a manner.

Book VII, Chapter I, Section 1 (Entire)
The Entire City Of Jerusalem Was Demolished, Excepting Three Towers

"....Caesar gave orders that they should now demolish the entire city and temple, but should leave as many of the towers standing as were of the greatest eminency; that is, Phasaelus, and Hippicus, and Mariamne; and so much of the wall as enclosed the city on the west side. ***This wall was spared, in order ***to afford a camp for such as were to lie in garrison, as were the towers also spared, in order to demonstrate to posterity what kind of city it was, and how well fortified, which the Roman valor had subdued; but for all the rest of the wall, it was so thoroughly laid even with the ground by those that dug it up to the foundation, that there was left nothing to make those that came thither believe it had ever been inhabited. This was the end which Jerusalem came to by the madness of those that were for innovations; a city otherwise of great magnificence, and of mighty fame among all mankind." http://www.preteristarchive.com/JewishWars/jo-7-1-1.html

(A.D. 37-95) http://www.preteristarchive.com/JewishWars/index.html

"...This note will show that it is Jewish mysticism, called Kabbalah, that is responsible for claiming this wall as part of the temple that stood in Jesus Christ's day...."

"...What is known now as the wailing wall seems in all likelihood to actually be the Western Wall of an early Roman fortress (finally built and enlarged by Herod the Great). King Herod called it Fort Antonia, after the famous Mark Anthony who lived at the end of the first century before Christ." http://www.mikeblume.com/wailing.htm

'..could be interesting...'

I'll go along with that!

"...Julian favored the Jews, and commenced to REBUILD THE TEMPLE, setting 10,000 men at work to clear Mount Moriah, intending to make it a rival of Mount Calvary; but his projects failed BY SPECIAL INTERPOSITION OF GOD, the WORKMEN BEING DRIVEN FROM THE FOUNDATION by [GREAT] BALLS OF FIRE issuing therefrom and soon after, he died...." This could be a very important event.

Unfortunately, the Israeli police do not represent a Jewish government but a secular one. If Har HaBayit is going to be returned to the Jewish People for whom G-d intended it then it won't be the Israeli government that does it.

If Europe isn't careful, one of these days we just may see the Hagia Notre Dame, or an Al Aqsa mosque at Canterbury.

This just reminded me of something that astounded me, though the way things are going, I don't know why I was astounded.

Last week in the tv guide that comes in our local newspaper, there was a movie of some sort about Jesus, not sure now which movie.

The description after the title contained this phrase "Jesus, who some people believe was the son of God".

"Some people"? This in a country that is what--? 85% Christian?

Don't worry about the present government. The God of Israel could part the Red Sea.

He can give the Temple back.

King David purchased the site from Ornan (sp) the Jebusite somewhere around 1004 B.C. ... that's when David made Jerusalem the capital of Israel ... Solomon would be not too long afterwards ...

the abomination that makes desolate.

the antichrist sitting in the place of God, showing himself off as if he IS god.

we ought to pray every day that earthquakes and meteors and killer bees become attracted to that very large gold plated piece of occupational idolatry.
