This has already been proven wrong. The panel's members have already said there's no "smoking gun". Would the Dems have said that if there was anything remotely resembling one?

If they were implicated they would.

And I'm sure that if she's not lying the 9-11 commission will specifically ask Condi about whether she saw or even heard of the intel this lady is talking about. For some strange reason, however, I doubt this nutcase will be an issue.

1. It is highly plausible to me that these or those people in the US gov't had threats on their desk that what they refer to as "Al Qaeda" would attack cities with airplanes sometime in the unspecified but somewhat near future.
2. Even now as we speak these or those people in the US gov't probably have dozens of different threats on their table to sift through. Many or most of them bogus. How to separate the bogus ones from the non-bogus ones?
3. Even knowing definitively about such a threat in advance does not give one the ability to prevent it. Say it's May, you're a high-up mucky-muck (Bush, if that helps..), and you hear about this plot. What do you do? Close down airports for the foreseeable future? Expel all Muslims from the country? What, exactly?
Let us look at this issue with open eyes however. Lefties are right on one accord, which is that at times the Bush admin. acts like they have something embarrassing to hide. I would advise us to prepare ourselves; we should not be all that shocked to discover that someone like Rice did indeed have a "threat of airliner attack" raw report placed on her desk at some point in May or July or sometime. If so, it's certainly understandable that they would not want it to get out. It's important to remember that hindsight is 20/20. At the same time, political damage would be inevitable.
I do agree with the assessment above that if (D)s had definitive knowledge of something like this, they wouldn't have said "no smoking gun". But who knows. And if it doesn't come out now, there's always October.
I'm just saying, prepare yourself for such things.
