Well, like Zell Miller said, we're becoming a nation of wimps and warriors. It's good to see the DU is providing a place for the wimps to hang out.

They are not anti-war. They are just on the other side.

I can't help but hope the FBI keeps tabs on those morons. If you think about it the DUh would be a great place for terrorists to spoonfeed propaganda to the baby sheeple.

Jim please let this thread stand regardless of the link. It is important at times to know your enemy.

Funny thing about the posters over there. Suddenly there are a bunch on new ones, all with over a thousand posts to their name. Guess the place seemed too small, so they cloned out a bunch of new/old posters.

Kind of fits in with my theory that there really are about only 10 or 20 paid posters who have a half dozen names each, and they spend the day posting back and forth amoung their many identities.

Really bizarre place, it often reminds me of the scenes from the Alien movies, inside the monsters lair. Just plain creepy.

My dad was a civilian pilot in the China-Burma-India Campaign. I suppose you could call him a mercenary.

Thank you for posting this. In dealing with foreign enemies we must not neglect the enemy within.

This is going to be very difficult, since (imho) very few Americans have any idea who the enemy really is and what ultimately drives them.

The clearest and most reasonable exposition of this that I have come across is Thomas M. Franks' The Conquest of Cool. This documents the historical and cultural relationships among mass media, the advertising culture, and radical politics since the late 1950s.

It is an absolutely damning indictment of all three. To summarize, it is no coincidence that the rise of the authoritarian "New Left" and the decline of traditional ethics have paralleled the development of the saturation media as a selling tool.

I confess to being a bit of a bore about evangelizing for this book, but it really is one of the most important works of cultural history in recent years. The scales will fall from many eyes upon reading it.

I should say right now that this is not some kind of conspiracy theory nor is it a partisan rant. Frank is actually something of a lib himself, which actually helps the credibility of his work.

Who's Charles McCarthy? The only Charles McCarthy I know is the "dummy" for ventriliquist Edgar Bergan. Do you mean Joe McCarthy?

They are Mercenaries - They are in it for the money, they are thugs and hoodlums, working outside the boundaries of the law. And yesterday the Resistance got even with 4 of them in a barbecue ceremony, ...

As I understand it, those who were murdered were three retired Navy Seals and one retired Army Special Forces types who's primary responsibilty was to provide protection for food shipments being convoyed into the Fallujah area. Not exactly the kind of folks I'd say were "thugs and hoodlums," or even "working outside the law."

There are times when even this mild-mannered correspondent truly feels the need to go postal and take out a few Anti-American leftist types ... and this is one.
