Our "artistic culture" is ruined ... or dying, depending on how you look at it, because "art critics" and "art directors" and "art writers" and the "artistic community" see nothing wrong with a "play" called the "Vagina Monologues, see cow dung on a picture of the Virgin Mary and a cross in urine as "high art."
When these people cannot decide that an elephant waving a brush over a canvas is as "worthy" as a Da Vinci or an Impressionist painting ...
When they pay for a "perfromance artist" to spray a crowd with Aids-infected blood ....
Then they are mentally dead already.

Regard art critics as useless and dangerous. I can't argue about this one.

The main reason "Futurist" Painters (and sculpters I might add) failed was that they insisted on wearing "futuristic" clothing/suits when they created their art. For example, the first prototype space exploration suits and mockup moon visitation gear were all the rage amongst these brave artistes. Unfortunately, it made painting, and art creation in general, inaccurate, slower, and more uncomfortable. Not the ideal environment for creating masterworks for the ages. Like the Shakers, they will be remembered, but then quickly forgotten.
