In NASCAR news, Bobby Labonte grabbed the pole for Sunday's race, Rocket Man (Ryan Newman for the unitiated) had a poor qualifying run (will roll off 15th), and the Busch race pole-sitter (Kyle Busch) missed the feature in "provisional favor" of the lone field-filler (Kirk Shelmerdine).
