I've read much about the Viet Nam war. What got us in trouble there was letting the politicians determine the conduct of the war. I really hate to make comparisons, but is that what is happening here? The best way to lose a war is to not engage it. KILL THE SUCKERS!!!! I know....terribly un-P.C. of me.
So be it.

Just today I found this quote which seems appropriate to your comment!
"I believe that forgiving is God's function. Our job is simply to arrange the meeting".
- General Norman Schwartzkopf.

Funny you mention that. I was just watching Ollie Norths War Stories and they are profiling the battle of Kha Sanh.
On another thread a few weeks ago I mentioned the movie that I had just seen on TV with Mel Gibson "We Were Soldiers" the story of Hal Moore in Vietnam. That was a battle!! There is a FReeper named Aloha Ronnie who was there, he has a website dedicated to that battle. It was very interesting, I haven't been able to watch too many movies about Vietnam because so many guys I went to high school with were killed or injured there, that I get too emotional. Actually a small version of the wall came through here last week and I was finally able to see it. I've never had the privilege of going to DC to see all the wonderful historical places and memorials.
