IMHO patriotism, honesty, and dedication to ultimate job performance should be HUGE factors for those involved in national security jobs. A lot more than background checks should be required in order for them to be hired. Countless lives depend on these people. If thoroughness means longer lines at airports and elsewhere, so be it.
