We who live within a few miles of the San Andreas Fault are well aware of that article. The writer has had a very significant series of accurate quake predictions. I'm hoping he is wrong this time.

Someone from the USGS recently pointed out that, based on simple probability and statistics (e.g. based on historical data) that the area covered by the prediction - from the Mexican border clear on up to Barstow, that it innately has a chance of such a quake (or greater one) during that time period. The Landers quake was even more powerful.
