US Promises to Punish Those Responsible for Gruesome Iraq Attacks

The top U.S. official in Iraq says Wednesday's gruesome attacks on four American civilians whose burned bodies were put on display in the town of Fallujah will not go unpunished.

"It's going to be deliberate, it will be precise and it will be overwhelming," U.S. General Mark Kimmitt said, speaking to reporters in Baghdad. He warned insurgents in the town of Fallujah to be prepared for U.S. forces to strike back following Wednesday's killing of four American contractors by a frenzied mob that dragged their charred bodies through the streets.

Televised footage of the act has provoked outrage from Americans in the United States and led U.S. administrator in Baghdad Paul Bremer to issue a warning.

"Their deaths will not go unpunished," he promised.

The White House blamed the attacks on supporters of Saddam Hussein. The remains of the four were to be turned over to the U.S. military.

A day after the attack, three American soldiers were injured in another attack near Fallujah, this time when their Humvee struck a roadside bomb.

Mutter's links to FR- I found this post by "Deb Mc" and found the information to be very chilling. Here is what she has put together: It was posted within the past few weeks:

Re: Need help pls! Re; South America: Guyana & Iran

" Ok, now the down and dirty of the situation, history and pertinent info:

- Guyana, Suriname and French Guiana are three small countries wedged in between Brazil and Venezuela. All three have a decent sized Afghani and Paki muslim population, and there are suspected terrorists from there that had been caught in the U.S.

- Guyana has sizeable amounts of gold, oil and bauxite (used for hardening metals) that are being mined. Russia is heavily into mining the bauxite there.

- Venezuela has been threatening to invade Guyana for 30+ years and take over the gold and oil fields. Just a couple of days ago, Chavez has ordered that Venezuela's southern border (w/both Guyana and Brazil) have a *massive* population influx and have major roads & infrastructure built. (Whether that's going to be done is another matter...)

- We know that Chavez has been rather openly supporting the Communist FARC terrorists in Colombia. Lula seems to be a supporter of Marxist terrorist groups too, with FARC, FARB and the Shining Path ties.

- It has been reported by former Venezuelan gov't officials who are now refugees that Chavez has been helping Al-Qaeda and is protecting them on one of Venezuela's islands.

- Both Russian and Cuban intel officials are now running the Venezuelan intel offices.

- Russia now has a military base with potential missile launch capability in Venezuela.

- Russia may now have the same (as above) missile launch base hidden as a "space satellite launch facility" with the French down in French Guiana.

- Hezbollah, Hamas, Al-Qaeda and other Middle Eastern terrorist groups are in the "Triple-Frontier" border down in southern Brazil, near Paraguay and Argentina. Hezbollah is an Iranian terrorist group.

- Iran has weak links to a company that was caught illegally mining uranium in Mexico back in 1999. Iran had a partnership with the parent company to mine uranium in Zambia (?) over in south-eastern Africa. (I had a link to this trace. Let me see if I can re-find it and post it.)

- Iran may be now acting as a Middleman for proliferating nuke technology, replacing Pakistan as pointman. Why? How? Iran just signed a mutual defense contract with Syria, including the right to be able to use each others' weapons stockpiles. Syria may have Saddam's WMDs. Iran is quite far advanced regarding nuclear weapons capability and had/have bio and chem weapons.

- Back in May, 2001, Castro went to Iran and said "Together we can bring America to its knees!". This seems to have signaled a joint agreement for Marxist and Muslim Extremists to join together in a joint attack against the U.S.

- Russia is continuing to help Iran build and operate its nuclear facilities, even though the IAEA is finding much circumstantial evidence to show that Iran is building nuclear weapons, not for use in civilian power generation, as claimed."

The info Deb Mc collected could possibly point to the nature of the "spectacular" attacks that would be totally unanticipated.

Here is some further news about China/Taiwan/US:

U.S. Warns Taiwan on Independence Moves

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The United States warned Taiwan on Wednesday that unilateral moves toward independence could destroy its economic and democratic "miracle" and urged President Chen Shui-bian to take China's threats of military retaliation seriously.

Laying down a stern marker after Chen won a tight re-election campaign, Assistant Secretary of State James Kelly said, "We in the United States see these risks clearly and trust they are well understood by (Chen) and others in Taiwan."

But under questioning by members of congress, Kelly also said that if China moved militarily against Taiwan, Washington would view this with grave concern and President Bush's three-year-old promise to "do whatever it took" to defend Taiwan would come into play.

China continues to deploy intimidating missiles opposite Taiwan and refuses to renounce the use of force despite U.S. pleadings that it should do so, Kelly said in written testimony to the House of Representatives International Relations Committee.

While Washington strongly disagrees with China's approach, "it would be irresponsible of us and of Taiwan's leaders to treat these statements as empty threats," he said.

" The great nations such as Russia,China and Africa will truely regain there true place, as well, the new world trade centers will be in China."

OBL wanted to destroy China as well as the US...this doesn't wash unless one replaces the islamic protaganist with a marxist one. Sounds like the tools are in play.

Yup- and it's worse:

Russia and Iran signed a mutual pact. Russia is upholding Iran's rights to have "peaceful nuclear activities"...

China told us that they will refrain from helping us defuse the NK crisis, if we continue to support Taiwan.

Hmmm- Your comment about the Sparrow missile. VERY interesting. Makes me wonder if AQ has a number of these stashed on their "ships". (Remember that NYC jakel image- whatever gets launched at NYC is coming in from the water. The perpetrators are planning to escape the same way.)

Just exactly what I was thinking. I wonder what the range is?

Taiwan is getting ready to practice "wargames" on how to defend against a sneak-attack by China. They "project" that conflict for 2006. I would imagine that the possible conflict could occur much sooner than that.

War games: Taiwan to simulate surprise attack

TAIPEI - Taiwan's military said yesterday its biggest war games this year will simulate the repulsion of a surprise attack in 2006 - the year its President plans to defy China's threats by holding a referendum on a new Constitution.

The annual military exercises, dubbed 'Han Kuang 20' or Chinese Glory, will include computer simulations in mid-June and live drills from June through November.

The military declined to say whether the choice of date was linked to President Chen Shui-bian's plan to get voters to approve a new Constitution. 'The objective of the exercises is to try to crush the enemy's attempt to wage a quick war,' said General Li Chieh-chia, joint operations head at the Deputy Chief of General Staff's Office.

'We predict the war of the future will be non-linear, no-contact and asymmetric in form. It's very likely that China will invade Taiwan with a surprise attack,' he told reporters. He did not say how many troops would be involved or which weapons would be featured.

First thought after reading this was about the assassination of ArchDuke Ferdinand and the entangled peace treaties and alliances that foisted WWI.

What do you all think about this? They are saying that the bomb was actually quite small and would not destroy a bridge.

Floating Bomb Found On Lake Pontchartrain

NEW ORLEANS -- A workboat crew on Wednesday found a bomb floating in Lake Pontchartrain a couple of miles from the Causeway.

Police said the bomb consisted of explosive material secured in plastic pipes with what appeared to be a timer attached. The bomb was wrapped in trash bags to keep it afloat.

A tugboat operator spotted the bags floating in the lake at about 7 a.m. and called the U.S. Coast Guard because he said it appeared dangerous, according to Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office spokesman Col. John Fortunato.

"Russia is heavily into mining the bauxite there."

It is used in the aluminum industry...Russia controlling Venezuela's aluminum now gives a third reason for Guyana to be picked like a ripe plum...they need the US to be "under the weather" and entangled elsewhere in order to pull this off.

" I wonder what the range is?"

If nothing else they have the missle that took out TWA flight off the south shore of Long Island. Stephanopolous leaked on live TV 9/11 that it was a missle. That missle would be the lower end of the possible scale I would guess.

Here is some further information about the security threat to the internet. (Even knowing all of this- the discoverer plans to PUBLISH his findings openly?!!)

Experts Race to Fix Serious Internet Flaw

Computer security experts in the United States and Britain today confirmed that a new method has been identified that could make it easy for hackers to disrupt Internet communications worldwide, prompting a months-long, quiet effort to convince Internet service providers and other operators of the global telecommunications system to upgrade their systems.

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security issued an alert Tuesday afternoon warning that the vulnerability could be used to "affect a large segment of the Internet community."

The exploit, identified by 36-year-old Milwaukee security researcher Paul Watson, could give hackers the ability to crash Internet routers -- the complex machines that direct most of the world's Web traffic.

The method that Watson identified takes advantage of an inherent design flaw in transmission control protocol (TCP) -- the language that all computers use to communicate on the Internet -- that could place ordinary computers at greater risk of attack.

Watson, who is scheduled to present his findings at a security conference in Canada later this week, could not be immediately reached for comment.

A notice on the conference's Web site and Watson's own site, www.terrorist.net, indicates that he still plans to share the full details of his research.

Specific details about the vulnerability were published for the first time today by British security officials who said a successful attack using the flaw could significantly disrupt online communications.

"The exploitation of this vulnerability could have affected the glue that holds the Internet together," said Roger Cumming, director of the National Infrastructure Security and Coordination Center in the United Kingdom. "Fixing it is a small but significant step to aid the overall stability of the Internet."

The NISCC and its peers in the United States, Canada and Australia have been working with Cisco Systems Inc., Juniper Networks Inc., and all of the major Internet router manufacturers to address the problem, NISCC officials said. (snip)
