US Promises to Punish Those Responsible for Gruesome Iraq Attacks
The top U.S. official in Iraq says Wednesday's gruesome attacks on four American civilians whose burned bodies were put on display in the town of Fallujah will not go unpunished.
"It's going to be deliberate, it will be precise and it will be overwhelming," U.S. General Mark Kimmitt said, speaking to reporters in Baghdad. He warned insurgents in the town of Fallujah to be prepared for U.S. forces to strike back following Wednesday's killing of four American contractors by a frenzied mob that dragged their charred bodies through the streets.
Televised footage of the act has provoked outrage from Americans in the United States and led U.S. administrator in Baghdad Paul Bremer to issue a warning.
"Their deaths will not go unpunished," he promised.
The White House blamed the attacks on supporters of Saddam Hussein. The remains of the four were to be turned over to the U.S. military.
A day after the attack, three American soldiers were injured in another attack near Fallujah, this time when their Humvee struck a roadside bomb.

Hmmmm. Middle Easterners. I recently took a cab in Philly, driven by "Mohammed" somethingorother. He was initially stiff, but loosened up when I told him that I preferred country living and was leaving the city. He then started joking around in a very friendly manner- even asking me if I wanted to smoke in the cab (prohibited) prior to my trip. Rather odd.

No it was Delta also. I know nothing about stocks except up and down. All had a spike about 2 weeks ago and have been down almost everyday.

Hmmm- Your comment about the Sparrow missile. VERY interesting. Makes me wonder if AQ has a number of these stashed on their "ships". (Remember that NYC jakel image- whatever gets launched at NYC is coming in from the water. The perpetrators are planning to escape the same way.)
I don't think I'm reading too much into their images, as it seems to me that they are so obsessive/compulsive that they seek to follow their "images" to a t.

I was listening to a local talk radio show this morning and they had an interesting guest on (I don't remember his name). He is the former head of counterterrorism in NYC. He had a very interesting take on what he thinks the sequence of attacks will be. He didn't think the U.S. would be hit yet -- he believes that Britain and Italy will be next and that would be the signal that the U.S. would be close behind. He thinks they are holding out for a multi-city spectacular hit here.

Re- your post: "Route 46 in Clifton is now closed in both directions after a tanker hauling five thousand gallons of kerosene went out of control and tipped over. This situation means that commuters may be in for some lengthy traffic delays."
No wonder the fruit vendor left! :)

That's probably the ONLY Robin Cook book that I've missed. I'll have to look for it. The premise certainly gives one pause for thought.
Welcome to the "Matrix" and keep posting.

Historically speaking, any kind of message from Bin Laden, such as the audio tape of last week (even one of questionable provenance and authenticy) is followed by one or more major international attacks within 2 days to 2 weeks.
The message boards are strange. Several died early today, only to resurrect themselves this afternoon. Not sure what's going on. There's a lot of wierdness out there, and a lot of jihadis who are usually key posters who are simply not around. That concerns me. Maybe they took a vacation; maybe they gave up the jihad; maybe they forgot to pay the ISP bill; or maybe they are out getting ready for something.
There were serious indicators of the events in Saudi Arabia. The State Department recognized that and pulled all nonessential diplomatic personnel out last week. There have been numerous bomb laden cards intercepted, and several shootouts with security forces. The attack in Saudi Arabia was not unexpected.
Jordan was put on notice by Al Qaeda several weeks ago, after a court sentences Abu Mus'ab al Zarqawi and several of his comrades to death in absentia for the murder of US diplomat Lawrence Folley. Since then, it has been a matter of "when" not "if" Jordan was going to be hit. They will try again. The Jordanian security forces did an awesome job stopping the chem attack - VX is not a nice weapon.
Citizens of Baghdad remain on notice until the 23rd to stay indoors due to the insurgents' plans to move battles into the capital. Several attacks on Basrah were stopped on Ashurah, a month and a half ago. Again, Al Qaeda goes back to finish the job. I don't think the military was caught off guard. I think the poor kids in the school buses were just in the wrong place at the wrong time. It makes me want to cry and at the same time very angry to think about it.
Israel remains on high alert - they are expecting an attack at any time.
The Brits stopped numerous attacks including on on a soccer game.
All of us here see the red flags. Many of us think something is getting ready to happen. We can't quite put the where and what and when, beyond "soon".
Anyone see how low silver is? As of 4:00 pm ET today it was $6.18

There must really be something to this tanker story. Is it a nationwide APB?

Indie- A similar scenario happened in Bridgeport, CT on 95 several weeks ago. The initial witnesses' reports were watered down. The previous DHS alert issued to the area was later- in the same day- called a "hoax".
As more of these incidents happen, people are going to start wondering what is actually going on....(I hope)

Interesting. I thought the article was going to say "dolls"

Maybe they ought to beef up security at nuke plants in the tri-state area. I would guess that if it was terrorists who stole the truck, it's probably hidden in a garage or warehouse somewhere in NJ. I don't think they'd venture out onto the interstate since the story is so high profile at this point. Sounds like they have additional info indicating the theft could be terror related.

There are certainly alot of pigeons in most of our major cities. Interesting.
