US Promises to Punish Those Responsible for Gruesome Iraq Attacks

The top U.S. official in Iraq says Wednesday's gruesome attacks on four American civilians whose burned bodies were put on display in the town of Fallujah will not go unpunished.

"It's going to be deliberate, it will be precise and it will be overwhelming," U.S. General Mark Kimmitt said, speaking to reporters in Baghdad. He warned insurgents in the town of Fallujah to be prepared for U.S. forces to strike back following Wednesday's killing of four American contractors by a frenzied mob that dragged their charred bodies through the streets.

Televised footage of the act has provoked outrage from Americans in the United States and led U.S. administrator in Baghdad Paul Bremer to issue a warning.

"Their deaths will not go unpunished," he promised.

The White House blamed the attacks on supporters of Saddam Hussein. The remains of the four were to be turned over to the U.S. military.

A day after the attack, three American soldiers were injured in another attack near Fallujah, this time when their Humvee struck a roadside bomb.

G-8: He who spins wins
Savannah Morning News
An analysis

It's all about appearances.

....
Bush in the spotlight

The stakes are the biggest for Bush.

He'll be in the middle of a re-election campaign and responsible for – if not directly in charge of – making sure things run smoothly.

....
But things could go badly.

"All it takes is one guy with a suitcase to ruin the whole thing,'' warns Atlanta political analyst Bill Shipp. Any perceived disaster is likely to be blamed on those most responsible for the event, especially Bush, Humphreys said.

Job one for Bush is to look presidential, said Lane Van Tassell, a visiting professor of international relations at Augusta State University.

"He will want to convey at least the image that he is the centerpiece of the summit," Van Tassell said.

Yeah, they're "pulling out" at the END OF 2004, or EARLY 2005, according to that article.

I think this is right in line with plans they have had all along and signals no change in Polish policy.

Postal Service Honors the Muslims (Reissued Allah Stamps)

Postage Stamp Celebrating Muslim Holiday To Be Re-Issued

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The U.S. Postal Service is pleased to announce that the Eid postage stamp will be re-issued on Oct. 10, 2002, at the current First-Class rate of 37 cents.

A 34-cent Eid stamp was first issued on Sept. 1, 2001, at the annual Islamic Society of North America's convention in Des Plaines, Ill. The new version will be available beginning Oct. 10 at Washington, D.C. post offices and at post offices across the country starting the following day.

Q. Who was responsible for the bombing of Pan Am Flight 103? A. Muslims.

Q. Who was responsible for the bombing of the World Trade Center in 1993? A. Muslims.

Q. Who was responsible for the bombing of the Marine barracks in Lebanon? A. Muslims.

Q. Who was responsible for the bombing of the military barracks in Saudi Arabia? A. Muslims.

Q. Who was responsible for the bombing of the American embassies in Africa? A. Muslims.

Q. Who was responsible for the bombing of the USS Cole? A. Muslims.

Q. Who was responsible for the attack on the Twin Towers on 9-11-01? A. Muslims.

Q. Who are killing American soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan today? A. Muslims.

Q. And who has issued the Muslims their own holiday stamp on our Christmas?

A. The United States Postal Service.

Today the United States Postal Service remembers and honors the EID MUSLIM holiday season with a commemorative first class holiday postage stamp.

How ironic is this??!! The U.S. Postal Service issues the Muslims their own "Seasons Greetings" stamp.

But don't even think about posting the Ten Commandments on federal property.

In honor of all the Americans killed by the Muslims, shouldn't everyone protest at the post office and boycott the Muslim stamp?

"The postal service is pleased to announce..."

Sigh...

Look, here's the thing.

The terrorists in Ireland were Catholics, but we don't say all American Catholics are terrorist. They're not. And all Muslims aren't terrorist either.

SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic - The Dominican Republic will pull its troops out of Iraq early, in the next few weeks, following the lead of Spain and Honduras, Gen. Jose Miguel Soto Jimenez said Tuesday.

The announcement came just two days after President Hipolito Mejia pledged to keep the country's 302 troops in Iraq until their one-year committment ended in August

....

On Sunday, Spain said it would pull out its 1,300 soldiers early,

prompting Honduras to follow Monday. The two countries' troops were expected home in about six weeks.

Perhaps you should check post # 3933

"The mosques say one thing to the public, and something else to us. Let's just say that the face you see and the face we see are two different faces," says Abdul Haq. "Believe me," adds Musa, "behind closed doors, there are no moderate Muslims."

From the horses mouth, so to speak.

I was about to say "this never used to happen when I was little" but I would have been wrong.

In circa 1963-64, when I was in 1-2nd grade, I remember them saying they were going to spray with c-130's over Dallas,TX. I remember it so well, that I was awake on the Saturday morning in question when the line of C-130's flying side by side in a long row, approached my neighborhood spraying so much poison [of an unremembered type...probably DDT ] that it dampened the cement like a heavy mist, and it's smell hung heavy in the air for hours. I'll never forget the sight of those C-130s flying that low directly over me, nor will I forget that low roar that shook the walls of our house. Airplanes fascinated me!!
That morning had been chosen because winds were totally dead calm. I remember waiting the recommended 1=2 hrs and then riding my bike down the alley through the neighborhood, the leaves still moist and the smell of poison still thick in the many bushes and trees.

I have never heard of this incident since, nor have I determined the insecticide used...but it was for mosquitoes and the spread of "sleeping sickness" [ encephalitis ] No telling what the contact with that poison did to my body after all these years. I'm pretty certain it was DDT. And yes the leaves were dripping with it, and yes I got wet.

Why is this familiar?

The first word that struck me was "childlike" in referrence to sentence structure...but it reminded me of your dream because it involved another childlike item..dolls.

In honor of all the Americans killed by the Muslims, shouldn't everyone protest ..Period..right there. We should be out en masse burning the PLO flag and calling for some frontier justice against all islamonazis. "THERE ARE NO MODERATE MUSLIMS"

I know one reason more Americans don't get as involved as should be...they're too busy working for 4-5 months to pay off the IRS.

'MAN FOUND BURNED AND BEHEADED NEAR GILMER [EAST TEXAS]

I heard this morning on WBAP radio that a man had found a man's body near a county road intact. He went to call police and when police returned, the head had been removed and the body was ablaze.

This is no joke. I'm still trying to find a written reference to the story.

Three Upshur County men were arrested and charged with murder Tuesday.

Upshur County Sheriff Anthony Betterton said 24-Jason Baughman, 28-year old Jeremy Narramore, and 33-year old Scott Narramore killed 32-year-old Joe Nickelberg early Monday. The Narramores are brothers.

Authorities were turned onto the body by a rancher checking on some cattle Monday near Cherokee Trace road. He called after finding the body of an adult man intact. When deputies arrived, the head had been cut off and the body burned. Authorities were able to track the men down by a car seen near where the body was found. After interviewing the suspects, authorities were able to find the decapitated head. The three men were arrested Tuesday morning at a home in Gilmer.

Authorities say they have confessed to the murder. They each have a bond of $1 million.
