I disagree with you on this.

The media is trying to portray those soldiers and contractors as having died for nothing. It's important to realize how much good the coalition (including the USA) has brought to Iraq.

It's also helpful to know that most Iraqis do think they are better off now than they were under Sadam, and that most Iraqis support the liberation of Iraq by the coalition.

It doesn't hurt to inform people back in the USA that Iraqis are volunteering for their police forces and defense forces in record numbers, too. They want to be able to defend their new freedoms from the thugs that are killing our soldiers and civilian contractors. Most Iraqis want to help us find the few killers in their midst and rid them of these criminals.

That said, as soon as the crowd started burning and mutilating the bodies of our fallen men, the area should have been cleared by a helicopter gunship or some other massive weaponry to protect our forces and kill the attackers. Hopefully, we will put some guns in the air and make some adjustments to the rules of engagement to allow for massive, immediate protective and retaliatory strikes when something like this happens again.

I heard Paul Bremer on Fox this morning saying these atrocities will not go unpunished.

A major offensive is in the works.

The U.S. military doesn't function on emotion (as many apparently do here on FR).

It uses brainpower as well as strength. Justice will be done.

Someone should post this at DU. Those arrogant losers act like they were right about Iraq all the time. They never admit the things they were wrong about. NEVER.

Justice will be done.

I believe that as well. I don't know when, or how, but I do know that W promised both Al Qaeda and Saddam that they would meet justice, and although the process is not complete in either case, it is well on its way.

These evil people have just had their last good night's sleep.

I hope you speak from knowledge because I'm just itching for retribution. I can't rest until we're avenged.

I don't have any knowledge. I do have faith in this administration. But, like you, I won't rest until we have avenged these deaths. I'll do anything I can to make sure that the admin. knows I want that.
