A couple of friends work for this outfit. It is a good one, run mostly by and for SEALs. I saw one of my buddies come up in instant messenger last night and I thought, well, He's over there now, I won't bother him unless he asks me for something. And after a while he checked out.

I spent most of today wondering if I had blown my last chance to speak with him. If the latest information I have is correct, none of these men is my friend.

That means they're somebody else's friend, somebody else's team mate, somebody else's buddy. That's a pretty meagre consolation.

The one story that is not being told (apart from stuff that can't be told) is the actions of the newsmen on site. Two AFP reporter/photographers egged on the crowd to mutilate the bodies. Also, this story that says that it was boys is not accurate. The AFP photos, which were taken during the mutilation, show the adults who did it.

AFP "journalists" have had free access to the terrorists, and have accompanied them on operations before (notably the attack on the DHL cargo jet in Baghdad), writing laudatory reports. As AFP were first on the scene (the next was an AP TV crew, but they didn't get there till the trucks were afire and the bodies being cut up) the question has to come up, what was AFP's participation in this attack?

The first AFP reports (before 9 AM ET) ranged from neutral towards favoring the terrorist mob, only after a backlash started they began toning it down.

I have wondered about all you mentioned. (Hope your buddy is safe and secure.)

Where is AFP headquartered at? Obviously, they are viewed as "friends" by Islamic terrorists or they wouldn't have been allowed to film so closely the carnage of the butchered Americans.

And obviously, they were welcomed at the Islamic butchering party. It sure is a coincidence they keep popping up at such opportune times when Americans are being fired upon and cut up into little pieces.
