I saw Hatch on the floor of the Senate speaking IN FAVOR of the increase in child-care spending. Grrrrr.

But one Senate conservative, Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., said that "probably over time conservatives are going to have to come to grips with the idea that a gas tax increase is going to be the only legitimate way, and honest way, to make up the shortfalls in terms of highway needs."
Either I have lost my mind, or Lindsay Graham has lost his.

I guess my response must be the Dems are adding amendments...
This increase in spending has been evident since 1994. The Gingrich lead Republicans outspent the previous two years of Foley led Democrats.
My better guess is Washington, DC corrupts.
