APRIL 1, 2004 Stolen: Over a tonne of explosives Insurgents in southern Thailand make off with ammonium nitrate from a quarry. They could be preparing a major attack BANGKOK - Armed raiders thought to be Islamic insurgents stole a large quantity of explosives from a rock quarrying company to prepare for, what police believe is, 'a major attack' in Thailand's Muslim-dominated south. About 10 armed men broke into the Manu quarry in Yala province on Tuesday night, tied up two elderly security guards and hauled away at least 1,320kg of ammonium nitrate, as well as 58 sticks of dynamite and 170 blasting caps, said Lieutenant-General Thani Twibsri, the deputy commander of the regional police. Quarrying companies are licensed to keep stocks of explosives and chemicals such as ammonium nitrate for use in blasting rocks. Interior Minister Bhokin Bhalakula said: 'We believe that this group may strike again during the Songkran (Thai New Year) festival' in mid-April. All the hotels are booked during Songkran, and the terrorists may be trying to create more fear.' Southern Thailand, encompassing the provinces of Yala, Narathiwat and Pattani, have been hit by a wave of violence this year by unidentified assailants, widely believed to be Islamic separatists. Lt-Gen Thani said the theft of explosives is the work of terrorist groups 'who must be planning a major attack and were running short of stock'. 'It is the work of the same group of terrorists who have been...causing trouble in the area,' he said. Thai Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra attributed the incident to carelessness. 'It is the negligence of the authorities who failed to closely guard these explosives,' he told reporters at a briefing in Saraburi province, 100km north of Bangkok. Southern Thailand is largely populated by Muslims who are an overall minority in Thailand, a predominantly Buddhist country. They have long complained of discrimination in jobs and education, and about their culture and language being suppressed. At least 56 people have been killed in the area since Jan 4 when raiders killed four soldiers at an army camp and stole hundreds of guns. Islam (3.8%), Christianity (0.5%), Hinduism (0.1%), others (0.6%) are embraced by the rest of the population. There is absolute religious freedom. The King of Thailand, under the constitution and in practice, is patron of all major religions.

How does one tell the difference between the wackos and the normals?, if the normal? faction doesn't declare itself, and condemn the wackos? Is it possible there are only wacko islamists?

Those numbers are obsolete. Muslims have been breeding like rabbits, and they are now at least 10%. They may be as high as 15% but the government there will not admit it.

One other thing .... as with Europe, secular people are increasingly targetted for conversion. Many who show up as "Budhhists" are typical, "modern" nihilists. Once they burn out on it, they become fodder for the neo Caliphate.

Good question... and heres an answer that I have repeated several times, and take great pleasure explaining to anyone that will open their eyes to the threat Islam poses to world peace.

Islam, in its pure form, is a nothing but cult of death and destruction. And once the "extremist" (actually the "true believers") followers of the moon god kill the Jews, it's on to the Christians ("First the Saturday people and then the Sunday people"), and then... Agnostics, Hindus, Atheists, Sikhs, Buddhists etc they will finish off their own, starting with those who practice "Bidah" or innovations of Islam which involve anything beyond the 6th Century raping, pedophilia and territorial conquest of the Darul Harb that their murderous false prophet Muhammed(Pork Be Upon Him) provided a role model for.

Islam has nothing to offer but eternal death and destruction. It's an evil cult that promotes a political system of gender and religious apartheid that must be stopped

That is not to say that there are no "good people" that are Muslims... they are actually "bad Muslims" because they do not follow the intolerance of the Quran and practice "Bidah." Encourage them to leave the death cult called Islam.
