Foxnews host Bill O'Reilly just previewed his show. "Problems continue for the U.S. Military in Fallujah. Why doesn't the U.S. Military just go ahead and level it?"
I have to say that I agree with Bill. Level the place.
Gee, thanks for the lovely thought. I hope I never get cancer either. As far as cutting it out, wouldn't bother me a bit.
Speaking of cutting things out, what you're proposing is completely different from dealing with a cancer. You want to level a town because of the terrorists in it? That would be somewhat similar to cutting off your head because of a hangnail. But that's ok. You follow your medical practices, I'll follow mine.
As I said earlier, leveling the town because it opposes the United States would be like Saddam leveling a town because it opposed him. I thought we were there to get rid of tyranny, not model ourselves after it.
The retaliatory action needs to be swift and decisive. The clock is ticking and all we've heard so far is the sound of crickets.
That, as ESPN would say, is a Top 10 Nomination.
Such is the difficulty of dealing with terrorists. Surely you don't claim the appropriate solution is extermination of all civilians in proximity of terrorists?
Freely assuming the inherent danger of protecting innocents while rooting out terrorists is what allows us to claim the moral high ground. Cede that, and we become little better than those we fight.
I don't know know of any criminals in my hometown doing these types of depraved acts. But you could but if I did, the SOBs would be turned in in a heartbeat.
Some of those other 450,000 people know who did this, and are haboring them. To hell with that!
Do you think Joni would object to paving Hell?
If there was a guy with a checkered headdress rapped around is head dismembering a charred corpse in the street, you bet your a$$, I'd drop a dime on him....
Right after I dropped his A$$ with a well placed shot to the head !!!!!
How about you ?
The other poster can't understand why other citizens in a city of 500,000 aren't turning in criminals. Have you ever been in a large city? If so, do you always know who the criminals are?
These overly emotional statements sound nice, but once we get past the emotional appeal there isn't much of substance left.
Our military knows what to do. They're trained a darn sight better than he.
Well, that's a change fron the tenor of this thread
But, there is a problem with the innocents. The terrorists hide behind the innocents. Likewise, the innocent ones hide terrorist relatives.
Maybe.
My point is that if we adopt a levelling strategy, (Wipe them out, all of them) we need to do it in a way that we can look at ourselves next day, and say that we did it right.
These "let God sort 'em out" types nauseate me.
America is not good because she is great. She is great because she is good.
Get it right!!
There is no way in blue blazes President Bush is going to order the destruction of an Iraqi city and O'Reilly knows it.
I trust him about as much as I trust McCain.
isthisnickcool?
Well, I'm not sure what we do here. But I do know one thing. Whenever the locals look at that green bridge they will talk about what they did there. I suggest that we remove the bridge in a very very dramatic way. Make it invisible early in the AM. Forever.
How can that be? You don't know who they are? According to the first poster, it should be so easy to identify the criminal element. Never mind that a city of 500,000 is a large place.
Some of those other 450,000 people know who did this, and are haboring them. To hell with that!
Yes, some. And our troops will do the morally correct thing and find as many of these people as they can. Then those who harbor terrorists as well as the terrorists themselves will face proper justice.
Certainly you don't advocate indiscriminantly killing those who aren't complicit in this, right?
Maybe you'll understand that urge if you go look at the pictures posted here:
