So what the h*ll are we doing in Iraq then? Why would we want to take on the task of civilizing a bunch of animals? It's not worth the sacrifice.

Agreed. It's FAR better to let the animals live, and learn to fly airplanes, breed and grow bacteria, develop toxic chemicals, and strap on explosive belts...

The problem is that there is no resolve to do things the way they should be done. The current exercise of installing a "multi-cultural" federal Iraqi government with the "religion of peace" enshrined in the constitution is not going to work.
