John O'Neill rips into John Kerry, not because of purely political reasons, but because O'Neill believes that Kerry besmirched the honor of a US Naval Officer. O'Neill was a graduate of the Naval Academy, while Kerry was granted his commission through a hurry-up officers' training course taken after graduation. Kerry had been indoctrinated as a youth in a considerable number of beliefs not compatible with love of America, and when the opportunity came up to exhibit those beliefs, he did not hesitate.

Good for O'Neill. I share his views 100%. I had to sit in Massachusetts in 1969-72 (law schol) and listen to Kerry promote himself by slandering all other Vietnam veterans and am disgusted by him.

I was wondering if John O'Neill was still alive, and what he thought of the Kerry campaign. Thanks for posting this.

You're very welcome.
The rerun of the "Dick Cavett Show" on C-SPAN a few days ago showed up a young John Kerry against this John O'Neill, and despite the somewhat partisan attitude taken by Dick Cavett favoring Kerry, O'Neill scored some impressive points. Kerry really WAS that much of a phony, even then, and when cornered, showed a tendency to shift topic. The other tactic was to talk over O'Neill, seeming to hope that enough confusion thrown up would rattle O'Neill's line of logic.
John Kerry was more interesting as a young man. But unfortunately, he has learned absolutely nothing since then. He is more French than the royal house of Bourbons.

"for using the war to promote his own political agenda"Sounds familiar.

"Mr. Kerry is the type of person who lives and survives only on the war-weariness of the American people," O'Neill said in the debate.
Wow. Nothing's changed in all these years. There's even a mention of Nader in this article!

John Kerry was more interesting as a young man. But unfortunately, he has learned absolutely nothing since then. He is more French than the royal house of Bourbons. Ha! But the French surely don't want him claiming them as his ancestral home. "He's American!", said some Frenchman, supposedly in his family tree back there.
This guy has flip-flopped on every issue, including his own nationality!
John Kerry: He's not Irish anymore

Is'nt John O'Neill the enviromental lawyer in Houston? I doubt if he would do anything to help Bush if he is.

Nobody said this John O'Neill had any plans to help Bush. But O'Neill for sure is no ally of John Kerry.
And perhaps that is exactly the right note to strike on these revelations. John Kerry is, in and of himself, a really dangerous man, underserving and undeserving of even a seat in the US Senate.
To: alloysteel
My question was "isn't John O'Neill the (extremly liberal) enviromental lawyer in Houston"? It could be a different lawyer.

O'Neill, 58, is still angry at Kerry for claiming in testimony in 1971 before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee that U.S. soldiers committed war crimes by killing and maiming civilians in Vietnam.Kerry visited the Yale campus as a representative of Vietnam Veterans Against the War before he testified to Congress. He made the outrageous claim that U.S. soldiers routinely committed war crimes in Vietnam. When I challenged his claim, he stated, "I was there! You weren't! I know what happened there!" He became highly indignant when I stated that were what he said true, he should be tried for the crime under the UCMJ of failing to report atrocities which he claimed all officers in Vietnam knew occurred. I was then shouted down -- the major way leftists from the '60s and '70s dealt with people who asked questions. (I suspect they would have lynched me if they could have.)

I watched O'Neill debate Kerry on Dick Cavett in the middle of the night the other night. O'Neill was impressive, very impressive. I hadn't realized that he was a Texan. I'm proud. He's recovering from donating a kidney to his wife. This puts him in stark contrast to Kerry, who prefers annullment after years of marriage.

I thought the best part of the debate was when they were discussing Viet Nam, and ONeill mentioned to Kerry he spent eighteen months in country, and Kerry spent only four.

I love that Demonrat county chair mentioning how O'Neill has reservations about President Bush and 'isn't a lapdog for Bush'. Hahaha, but the fact remains Kerry has serious character issues that cut to the core of someone being in a position of power. Kerry is the one who accused Vietnam veterans of being war criminals and bad guys. A despicable slander and about one of the worst things you can do. That and the four months he served and sought to get out to slander US troops and give aid and comfort to the enemy and now he attempts to only run on that four months in Vietnam, as if that makes him President! No way! His character has also shown through with his policy stances in government and shows why he is a dangerous man to consider as President.

Here's the
