I suppose on some level he has the right to not be a part of something he considers illegal. He'll have plenty of time to plan his next move while he sitting in the stockade for the next 5 to 10 years. Maybe when he is done he can chuck his ribbons over the White House fence. Oh wait, that's already been done. Nevermind.

The good thing about his going AWOL is that wasn't back in Iraq. He could have gotten some real soldiers killed.
