And now we have Bill Press on MSNBC saying that if the Bush administration had had cabinet meetings every single day *****LIKE THE CLINTON ADMINISTRATION DID**** maybe 9-11 wouldn't have happened.
He said they didn't meet on it until September.
The thing that has happened here is that these people can't get it through their heads that Bush HAD A DIFFERENT WAY OF DOING THINGS -- and that just because Mr. Clarke wasn't invited to the meetings doesn't mean they weren't meeting.
Clarke seems to believe if people weren't talking to him, they weren't talking!
He got demoted; he was out of the loop; he probably lost his good parking place, too -- and he's furious.
He is a liar.

Bill Press is a moron and a liar. Someone a few days ago on this forum said that had Bush not had Clarke in his cabinet, 9/11 would not have happend. I said it really wouldn't have mattered who would have been in Clarke's position to the terrorists. 9/11 was an event 10 years in the making.

I heard Press and decided I'd had quite enough nonsense on MSNBC.
Turned to Fox in time to see a clip of Cheney at some campaign event say it will not be as close next time and they will win by a bigger margin.
I find the nitwit yammering going on more amusing than anything because it is so off the mark, IMO, but it was starting to aggravate me. Press still thinks Clarke should have been listened to, for pete's sake! Talk about dumb.

I will NEVER forget that the last time I saw Barbara Olson was on CSPAN on September 9, 2001, facing off against Bill Press.
She was beautiful, bright and smiling. Press was his usual smirking, gloating, hateful self.
I've been nauseated by the sight of him ever since.

Check out the "Parody" in the latest issue of the Weekly Standard - lampoons Clarke's personal war on terrorism - it's a gut buster - I think you can find it on their website.
Anyone who remembers anything about the Clinton years knows that Clinton was far from being the anti-terrorism hero that Clarke, Russert, and others are making him out to be.
And what is this business that they are all citing about only 35 Americans dying as a result of terrorist attacks on Bill's watch? That is so untrue.
And if they want to make the distinction of Americans vs foreign nationals killed in attacks, then they better take out all of the foreign nationals that died on 9/11. I think that significantly reduces the number attributed to W.

...cabinet meetings every single day *****LIKE THE CLINTON ADMINISTRATION DID...Bwahahahahahahahahahahaha... Yeah, right, Press. Nice try, but a whopper nevertheless.
Bill Press: former head of the California Dem Party. Failed radio talk show host in L.A. Failed co-host of Crossfire on CNN. Failed co-host of a show on MSNBC.
Hope you stay in Washington, Billy Boy. Seems you're career is headed in the appropriate direction. We here in Southern California don't miss you one teeny bit.

At least Bush had daily briefings from the CIA (which Clinton didn't).

OMG ! Did he say cabinet meetings ? As usual Press is wrong. Clinton held hundreds of press briefings that went on ad nauseum but few cabinet meetings. If I'm not mistaken in 1998 he didn't have a single meeting with his cabinet until sometime in September and even then some members were absent.

I wish I could remember who said this last week, might even have been Condi -- that there were many more meetings than Clarke even knew about...
That's how out of the loop he was.
