Will listen out for it tonight. Thanks for the heads up!

As an aside to the Pope's statement, I was discussing this with my mom last night. I was a little astounded to discover that she still thinks of Terri as comatose. Even though I have e-mailed her the pictures (from FL engineer's remarks), she still doesn't have a good understanding of what Terri's state is from the newspaper and TV accounts.

She didn't know what PVS is all about. She didn't know that they have wake and sleep cycles. She didn't know that it's misdiagnosed 43% of the time. This is my mom. She knows how passionate I am about Terri, and she knows I'm more informed than she is, but there's still so much she doesn't understand. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that because she gets her information for the most part through the local newspaper (Gainesville Sun) and cable TV, that she is very much like her counterparts, which is the elderly in Florida. Until we can dispel some of the myths about Terri, and how what Terri endures is different than the dying process, I think we have a hard way to go.

We have to keep getting the truth about PVS out there. We need to keep writing letters to the editor, our lawmakers, etc., and somehow educate them about the distinctions between the terminally ill and PVS patients.

Talking with my mom last night helped me to see that there is still a whole segment of the population that could be informed, but isn't informed properly yet.

I feel very much the same way you do about this MB issue. Poor PR work from someone supposedly in the business. I also understand the newbie status, as I still consider myself quite a newbie. Lurked here for several years, but with Terri's fight, I could no longer hold back. There are some things worth fighting for and about, and I honestly believe that this is one of the biggies. Now that I have grown accustomed to posting somewhat, I have begun to post on other topics, but mostly stay close to the issue that got me started (Terri's right to be treated humanely). You've done well here so far, I think. Your posts are well reasoned and clear. Keep up the good work!

It's Wednesday evening and Easter is right around the corner. Terri's parents, brother and sister and extended family STILL ARE UNABLE TO VISIT HER.

This is appalling. I suppose that means the Monsignor as well.

This isn't my favorite thread but since you pinged me here FL_engineer, I can handle it. People are getting mad at President Bush over this again. I'D BE OKAY WITH A PARDON FOR TERRI but HAVE WE ASKED THE PRESIDENT FOR ONE YET? I haven't.

Does the President or Governor have the authority to pardon someone who's never even been accused of a crime?

I am very much aware of the constitutionality of "Terri's law" and have my own opinions on that which I have not expressed in this forum since this thread isn't about that.

Whatever.

I registered because I wanted to be a part of helping to preserve our Constitution and sovereignty - to educate myself so I could pass on the information. Seemed to me those were important issues, and this forum was about that.

By my enemies, I know my FRiends. And some of them I'd know on sight. There wouldn't have to be much catching up on past and present history, that's how well we know each other. And, no, we don't always agree on every subject.

Who knows, maybe one of my e-mails made it to you!

In case no one else has said it, WELCOME!
