It's a tactic that we have noticed before, such as when he started using "Benedict Arnold".

What the Kerry Kamp does is take matters that will hurt them in the future and take ownership of keywords from these matters and use them on the offensive...this, they believe, will subvert the effect of the words.

This "blitzkrieg of projection" takes many forms and is the primary defensive tactic of the US left. Some other examples:

Wesley Clark runs for president instead of waiting in a hole while why the world figures out he is a war criminal.

A full throttle offensive on Bush's service record so that those who should be questioning Kerry's service record are on the defensive.

Committees and hearings on 9/11 to head off investigations on the shameful war against the Serbs.

"Bush is weak on ( fill in the blank ) to fend off charges that "Kerry is a nightmare on ( fill in the blank ).

This strategy hand-in-hand with efforts to harm the economy and work against WOT victory is the Democrats' war plan.
